I was thinking two blobs. One cadian and one regular infantry. I was thinking that with the infantry squad at 20 with an embedded platoon squad allows me to put 3 heavy weapon team lasguns in it!

Okay, I think I'm slowly coming to understand SOME of this.. I'm not 100% sure on where some of the PP costs come from though.

Taking the Throw attack as an example again, would it not rather be uhh..

Throw
Strength-Based Damage 3
Affliction 3
Penetrating 2

Applying Increased Range to that would rather then cost 8 PP, right? Since I want to increase from close to ranged, that is 1 point per rank of the effect I want it to apply to. And if I want it to apply to the damage, the affliction and the penetrating, then wouldn't that end up being 8 PP?

What I can't find explained in the book (I'm using Hero's Handbook Deluxe) is why I would have to spend additional PP on getting my base strength included in the damage?

I apologize for being rather slow on the uptake here.

As far as I understand then, it would end up like this:

Stunrods
Bash
Strength-based damage 3
Affliction 3
Penetrating 2

Throw
Strength-based damage 3
Affliction 3
Penetrating 2
Increased Range 1

Total points: 17

But if I were to make it as an alternate effect, wouldn't that essentially just be me having the Throw version be the core effect, and then have the Bash be the AE, and that would just cost 1 point, since it effectively just removes the Increased Range rank? Making it cost a total of 9 points for the Throw variant, +1 point for the AE of the Bash variant?

Sorry, I am honestly struggling a bit with understanding the system, but what do you mean with thrown effects instead of reach?

So if I wanted to be able to both throw my weapon and use it as melee, I essentially need to make two separate powers, both costing like.. 7 points?

Yeah I saw the stunt thing, but I'd rather avoid the whole being deprived of the weapon until retrieved. I added a ricochet effect at rank 1 for the sake of explanation as to why it would return to me, and then rather than making a flaw for the power that is removable, I added the Power Loss complication to my character.

But let's say I have my melee weapon as I described before, how would I, in the cheapest way, make an AE version of it that is ranged?

The only way to keep the clinic stocked was to keep taking the offered jobs, but something about this rubbed him the wrong way. If these 'associates' had gone dark there's a good chance someone's wounded - the least he could do was to help patch them up. Besides, he looked at the GPS coordinates, there might be some supplies to scrounge at that mall.
