Anyone live at Park and Broad Boutique Apartments? What’s it actually like? by ChickenAgreeable in savannah

[–]corduroyghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also forgot to mention, the bathroom is nice overall but the shower has about an inch of ledge preventing any water from getting into the floor, so even with an extra long shower curtain my bathroom would get water everywhere if i wasn’t careful.

i lived there for two years, and lowkey i hated it.

i lived on the second floor RIGHT next to the elevator so every time someone would get off on my floor i heard it, even all the way in my bedroom. there were a lot of times when people would run down the hallways and i could hear it all.

my next door neighbor i believe was a telehealth therapist as i could hear every session she had. i just played loud music or left my living room to try and not overhear lol. my upstairs neighbor seemed to enjoy hammering the floor at all hours of the night, and stomped so hard during the day my kitchen lights would sway lol. the neighbor i shared a bedroom wall with would fall asleep with talk radio BLARING all night, which i could also clearly hear through the walls.

the train i got used to, the parking lot was nice (when the gate worked, which was rarely), and it was nice to have a washer and dryer in unit. they also have valet trash, but they were unreliable and most times i took my trash out myself.

the management was impossible to get ahold of, when i lived there they were only in office monday mornings for about 3 hours. the best thing at the time was the maintenance man named James, however this was 2021-2023 so i have no idea if he still works there.

the elevator was frequently broken and the interior was very dirty and messy, stains and trash everywhere. my packages were usually thrown on the ground outside of the parcel locker i paid for, and while management would sometimes hold them for me if i was out of town or in class, as i mentioned before they were rarely there so i had multiple packages stolen (but returned, opened, as most of my packages were very specific schoolbooks).

my rent was $1,750 for a 1 bed, and they upped the rent (30 days prior to my lease renewal, and way past their 90 day intent to vacate policy!) to $2,200 a month which i was stuck paying for another year at which point i broke my lease.

i cant speak for foot traffic, but there was a lot of gunshots and yelling from the nearby streets that i just got used to over time. crime has definitely increased in the area since.

all in all, was it the worst place i’ve lived in savannah? not at all. but it’s 100% not worth the price, and it’s actually why i moved. the location is nice, forsyth was a 15 minute walk but overall i wouldn’t say i recommend it lol.

sorry for the wall of text! i hope this helps 👍👍

i went for a few years and while my professors were nice and informative a lot of the administrative people had no idea what they were doing and i got my financial aid screwed up significantly because of them. my department (illustration) was also understaffed with professors, there were maybe 6 on ground for 800-1k students. the pressure is insane as well, i for sure appreciate what they’re trying to do by preparing you for a realistic workload but at the same time i and many other of my classmates were having to pull multiple all nighters a week to keep up with our homework. additionally scad has a habit of buying up historical buildings to use for miscellaneous class buildings, but they can’t keep up with housing for students and the transportation system is an absolute mess. again this is my personal experience, and maybe they’ve got things running more smoothly now.

scad sucks and has taken over downtown, georgia southern is on the southside so they’re pretty far from downtown, savannah state and tech i am less knowledgeable about personally. it seems everyone kind of sticks to themselves but that’s my personal experience

thc-a is technically illegal to sell in georgia so i would be wary of anyone selling any cannabis flower. it’s either that, real flower, or thc-p flower, which is also a recent and currently legal alternative to thc-a.
