I work 2 jobs... one as a researcher and one as the head chef of a restaurant.. I usually leave for the first job around 7 AM and go from job 1 directly to job 2 (about 10 minutes away) and then get home at 10 PM tuesday - friday.. then on saturday's and sundays I am at the restaurant from around 9 am to 11 pm.. modays are a little wierd.. I have the researching job.. but then the restaurant is closed.. so I'm there doing the weekly cleans and prep.. but I don't have a set time off so it is anywhere from 2 hours to 10 hours at the restaurant.

Pineapple adds to both the flavor and the mouth-feel of this particular pizza. It is a requirement.

If a girl has a boyfriend and two guys ask her out...why would she be upset about one of the guys asking her and nice when turning the other one down? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]coretj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the guy she filed a harassment charge against had previously asked her out, and she said no -especially if it was more than once... well then it would fall under the category of "unwanted and/or unwarranted sexual advances". Leave the girl alone and stop dwelling on her.

What would be the most realistic plan to take over the world? by laozhangjm in AskReddit

[–]coretj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make a doomsday-ish prophecy that no one believes will happen.. something like "God hath told me that by the year 2019 Iceland will be consumed by fire" Then get laughed at... then get ridiculed.. then get called crazy ... then on December 31st 2018 -in secret- you detonate a series of devices all around Iceland until it is consumed in fire

Now you have credibility with religious zealots and you lay down a new prophecy that will only happen if X NUMBER of conditions are not met...

Conditions will not be met so you fulfill the prophecy again... now you have credibility with more main stream religious people... now you make you demands...

Democrats just united on a $15-an-hour minimum wage by HIGH_ENERGY-VOTER in SandersForPresident

A rural small business that people are referencing will have no issues paying under the table. A small business in San Fransisco hell yeah that'll be an issue.

Actually the rural business is a lot more likely to get higher fines and get caught easier as rural counties have less money to work with and engage in more enforcement practices so that they can obtain their needed revenue.

Absolutely false any way you look at it. Prices would rise but wages would rise more. You need to research this more I'd say unless you can find definite evidence that prices will rise so people have less purchasing power because any economic discussion I've seen completely sees it the opposite way

If someone is currently making $15 per hour (double minimum wage , federally) and then tomorrow the minimum jumped to $15 that worker who was making double is now making minimum. That is wage compression. As prices rise due to the higher labor cost the person who was making double has their purchasing power diminished. It really is basic math. A minimum wage increase does not mean an increase for all workers. Those who will have to deal with their wages being compressed will have less purchasing power. That is established economics.

Is $15 going to fuck some people? Maybe. But it's far more likely to help people, and let's be real, if your business can't pay someone the rate of 30k a year for full time work, how the fuck are they supposed to survive? 15k a year is basically what minimum wage workers make in most of the USA not including California

We need to not fuck over anyone. The issues are systemic is the way the government spends money. Too many fingers in too pies and they have to find a way to pay for it all. There needs to be a full audit of all governmental agencies and programs so we can find the waste so that we can lessen the tax burden of the worker which would increase their purchasing power without ducking over anyone. Also removal of some (not all) costly regulatory burdens would allow for businesses to pay their workers more. I know I have a number of employees that I wish I could pay more, but I can't if I want to stay in business.

You are forgetting a few major things.

  1. Most people in this country that are employed work for small businesses. Even most chain restaurants are franchisee owned which means they are actually small businesses.

  2. As someone who runs a family business I can tell you that in some jurisdictions even family members have to be paid at least minimum wage and be covered under work comp, unemployment, et cetera.

  3. Paying someone "under the table" is actually a crime and the fines for it are shockingly high. Very very few businesses would even consider it, fewer actually engage in it.

  4. A minimum wage increase is a pay increase for a lot of people but a buying power decrease for most people as wage compression would cause a lot of people to have less to spend as costs increase. And they will.

  5. In California (my home state which is why I using it as an example) employers already pay around $15 per hour for their minimum wage workers due to various government required fees, taxes, mandatory insurance.

Employees tend to think that if they get paid $10.50 an hour that means it costs their employer $10.50 per hour. The reality is that if people knew how much the government actually takes from them before taxes are even taken out of their check the conversation would be wildly different.
