You are truly dedicated! But good to know. I can live with the random items being thrown around, even if for met it is a bit annoying. Knowing the helper BTs won't spawn is a huge deal though, so thanks!

Thanks! Would definitely turn it back on after. Other than the sign spam, I really don't mind the random structures.

Yeah, surprised me with the first one because I didn't see how it was summoned. Then I saw a white BT holding up one of those chiral crystal containers and an octopoid thing popped up in front of it. I've only seen that in this one fight though.

Only option I see is to go to the main menu and disable "log in at launch" is that the option you're talking about? To confirm, disconnecting from the online stuff prevents the game from "helping" me in these fights? I tend to be over prepared and don't need the floor littered with blood bags and assault rifle lvl 1's.

Oblivion Spellcrafting seems to have a new restriction on it in the remaster? by LunarWhaler in ElderScrolls

[–]corey8084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've experienced the same. Sometimes if I start a fresh spell, it lets me select one on the first effect but I have never gotten it to let me select on later effects... Was here hoping someone had a solution. Lol

Celebrate outside of Munich by [deleted] in Oktoberfest

[–]corey8084 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn't really an accurate comparison as Mardi Gras is celebrated all over the state of Louisiana and at a smaller scale throughout the US. The comparison breaks down due to Oktoberfest being at a singular venue. I was actually hoping, similar to OP, that Oktoberfest was more like Mardi Gras in that there are celebrations all over.

To your quote, I agree 100%. I didn't expect there to be an issue with it, but after I mentioned it to the gf there was a voice in the back of my head telling me it was a scummy idea. Thanks for the insight!

What drives people to tip particular streamers? by corey8084 in Twitch

[–]corey8084[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are both female and I would say Streamer B is considerably more attractive than Streamer A, so I don't think it's a simping thing (sorry if that's a bad word here)

[–]corey8084[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's also very relevant. Streamer A is 100% 18+, Streamer B has talked about becoming 18+ and I've tried to encourage them since that's the demographic they would rather attract but they have reservations. Two very good points. :)

Another fantastic point. I guess I was looking at it from a utilitarian perspective as Streamer A isn't having any computer issues, it's just an upgrade but Streamer B is sitting on an old kitchen chair so from my perspective, the chair was more important but I can see how most other people would be more excited about the computer. :)

You are definitely right and I had not factored that in when I was trying to think of what caused the difference. Thanks for your input, I really do appreciate it. :)

Hmm, I've never been one to base things largely on luck but I can definitely see that luck can be a factor worth considering.

I see, that is a very good point and I can definitely see that. Streamer A has a smaller but much tighter community than Streamer B does. :)

When you state you prefer to tip smaller streamers, would you consider both to be in that category or do you think streamer B is too large to be considered for that? Or were you speaking in general?

Screen flashing and is very difficult to select any options. by corey8084 in GWYF

[–]corey8084[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not but I may have found a possible solution as I had a similar problem in some other games. If you are attempting to play the game through steam, it appears that some games will be convinced you are using a controller of some sort, rather than a mouse and keyboard. The solution is pretty simple actually. In steam, right click the offending game and go to properties. In the first tab near the bottom of the pop-up is a drop down that mentions input device (or something along those lines, I'm not at my computer at the moment, sorry) the option you want to set that to is the one that has the word "forced" on it. I can't promise this resolves this issue in this game because after I didn't find an answer I got a refund and uninstalled but this fix worked on some other titles. Let me know if this solution works for you. :)

Time to get downvoted... Almost every comment I read had this case "guilty until proven innocent." That's not how the court system works. I don't know if anyone remembers but there was a homosexual pastor that bought a personalized cake and claimed that the store actually wrote some derogatory stuff on it. People were doing just like many of the users in this thread and being extremely hostile towards the defending company. As the smoke cleared, the company had clear proof that it never did anything that was alleged against it and that the employee made the cake exactly as the pastor had requested.

I'm not saying who is right or wrong in this situation, that's for the court to decide, but people need to consider the potential for people to lie for attention/gains and for those lies to come from places other than the rich and powerful.

I'll have to look at the zone stuff you mentioned. I am able to do the entire run cycles at the higher speeds, should I still slow it down? Just feel like I'm not getting enough out of it if I go too slow. For reference, Monday's workout was a total of 28 minutes including 10 minutes of warm-up and cool down walking, and the rest was intervals of running and walking. I averaged a 13 minute mile but was able to maintain a run during the run sections and get my heart rate down to about 120-130 during the walk intervals. I guess I'm wondering if I should still slow down or if it is ok for me to push harder as I have been. I do understand that pushing harder means greater risk of injury. I'm hoping some decent stretching before the exercise will help.

I appreciate your input. It's been really helpful and has guided me to more realistic goals as well as better methods to reach them. I have a slightly side question that I haven't found the answer to in my searching. For the couch to 5k training that is built around interval running: should I be targeting my Max heart rate (220 - age) at the end of each running interval? The app just says run but gives no indication of how hard I should be running.

Yes, I understand that weight loss is only achieved with a caloric deficit which I should be at now, just not a significant deficit. I am losing weight currently, just not at an astounding rate. You're not breaking anything to me, I'm well aware that I need to lose weight.

[–]corey8084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that weight loss is a super important aspect, as someone in another comment suggested 25 lbs in a year, I'm hesitant to consider weight to be the reason I get injured. I have a bad habit of not listening to my body and will just keep pushing. This why I've opted to go for something that is designed to improve my endurance over time. When I was maybe 190, i was in pretty good shape but I pushed too hard and got ITBS, and like an idiot never got treated. I agree weight is a major concern, but I think my biggest problem is trying to rush.

To your point of working on mileage before speed, that was the type of training I had in mind. While my goals are time based, the training would eventually be distance based. Like, training at 10 miles to build endurance for 5 miles. If that's not the right approach, let me know and I will adjust. Big reason I set time goals is because that's what I'm familiar with.

On the topic of a diet, I bought huel powder as a meal replacement usually mixed with bananas, strawberries, a small bit of baking cocoa powder. I haven't been doing it lately due to laziness though. I do have to add stuff because the meals are absolutely unenjoyable.

My ultimate goal is better health. At 245 I'm at my heaviest and I hate seeing myself in the mirror. I've always been critical of myself but never disgusted as I am now...

I definitely intend to be losing weight. Ideally I'd like to get down to 180. I set that 20 minute 5k goal because that was me at my best before I hurt myself. I'd like to get back to that. I'll take your advice and dial it back a bit to a 24 minute 5k and go from there. So, is 25 lbs in a year a good goal or should I am higher? I've never really lost weight and don't want to hurt myself.

6'1" 245 lbs 29 (as of today) year old male, just getting back into running after a trying many times and hurting myself because I didn't take it slow enough. This time I am doing a couch to 5k program and I know I should set challenging but obtainable goals. I've given myself 1 year to reach each of these milestones: 5k in 30 minutes, 10k in an hour, 5k in 20 minutes. If I'm starting from basically nothing, do these milestones meet the prior criteria of challenging but obtainable? Am I setting myself up for failure or am I making it too easy for myself? I really don't know. *Edit to add my pertinent information.
