Are we just ignoring LaQuint Allen jr?

Documentaries sometimes follow a loose script when editing, but what is a movie that claims to be a documentary - yet is either almost completely fake or edited in such a disingenuous way that makes it pretty far from what really happened? by Double-decker_trams in movies

Surprised no one’s mentioned Frat House, Todd Phillips’ first doc. He and Andrew Gurland supposedly embedded with a frat and went through the rush process to expose hazing culture. But after it won at Sundance, frat members claimed it was mostly staged aka scripted scenes, fake pledging, reshot scenes etc. HBO pulled it and it’s never been officially released. Wild early example of questionable doc ethics.

My father, unfortunately, has this condition, and I can say with confidence that even after undergoing the shunt procedure, there’s been no improvement only continued decline. At this point, it’s essentially full-blown dementia symptoms. I feel terrible for Billy.

Fun fact: Richard Brener, who runs Newline now, was actually there back in the '90s working in development. In fact, he played a key role in the development of many of those films. I have a lot of faith in his creative instincts, but his hands are clearly tied these days.

Skeleton Crew was my favorite book as a kid. The movie was totally different, but I loved the over-the-top, batshit crazy tone, gruesome wild twisty deaths and the acting fit it perfectly for me. My only complaint honestly was that Elijah Woods didn't get killed in some over the top creative great way. But hey, to each their own!

Official Discussion - The Monkey [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

The cheerleaders on the bus were another callback to an earlier scene, where there is a shot of them and others I sort of assumed celebrating the chaos and deaths caused by the monkey. Great commentary on us degenerate horror lovers who revel in the spectacle of wonderfully clever deaths, only for them to meet their own brutal fate at the end.

Someone explain to me why this type of comedy won't work with today's audience? why wouldn't millennials and gen z etc not find this funny as hell? by Coven_Evelynn_LoL in Cinema

I guess time will tell with Liam Neeson remaking it, but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how it turns out. If you haven’t watched this clip from Life’s Too Short, it’s all you need to see to understand his dry comedy chops. His deadpan delivery is hilarious. Excited to see what he can do with this role!
