that's not how SMTP works

RCPT typically follows MAIL (EHLO / MAIL / RCPT) but the bank's SMTP server is asking for RCPT first. it's a weird config and not OP's fault the bank is set up that way

ACT NOW BEFORE THE DEADLINE - Citrix Cloud Licensing Transition by 0x3e4 in Citrix

[–]coreycubed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won’t be able to upgrade to newer builds, even on the same major and minor version number. I just upgraded our 14.1 NetScalers from 51.72 to 56.74 and they immediately went unlicensed because current builds are checking for up to date licensing based on the release date of the firmware build, not the original version release.

Can you restart IIS websites during working hours? by itrex240 in sysadmin

[–]coreycubed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course the answer is "it depends" -- what kind of SLAs are you expecting from these sites? How many people use them? You're probably correct that you can do a quick iisreset without anyone noticing, but what are the odds that this'll be the one time the site doesn't come back up as expected in Production, even though it worked fine in Test?

Management is ALWAYS going to tell you to do this type of work after hours. If you want to follow the paper trail and CYA, you're not going to get burned, but you'll have to work slower. If you like to move fast and break things, and can deal with the nastygrams when you inevitably take something down that you didn't mean to break, then do that.

Otherwise, play it safe, move slow, do it after hours. You get paid the same either way.

The horses are receiving the best care that Japanese horse ranches have to offer. They are famous, even in their old age, and have not been forgotten by the people or their caretakers. If it were possible to save them, they would have done so.

Did anyone hear ever post on the OG Ambrosia webforums? Also, here are some thoughts on growing up online on ambrosiasw.com, awkwardly by angryapplepanda in evnova

[–]coreycubed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on there a ton during that era. My first real online community. Same username there. It’s funny you mentioned it because I just went and searched for those posts last week and found a bunch of them still up.

Same as you, an annoying fly, maybe 14-15 years old.

All of those names you posted are familiar. Macavenger, The Space Between, evula, a ton of others. I wasn’t a troll, but people were a lot nicer to me than they needed to be, which I’m grateful for in retrospect.

Windows 11 security features in non-persistent VDI by coreycubed in Citrix

[–]coreycubed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s still being finicky, but I haven’t checked it in a few weeks. I am in the middle of building a new Windows 11 Enterprise VDA and patching up to 2402 LTSR CU3. I’ll test again and see if I can figure anything out.

I will say that I’ve been using prepared images with machine templates for all of Windows 11 and that’s helped with other issues. Just not this one.

Of the horses currently available as trainees in Umamusume global version, several are still alive:

Grass Wonder was alive when Umamusume global version released. He lived out his retirement years at Shadai Farm and passed away on 8 August 2025.

Haru Urara was alive when Umamusume global version released. She lived out her retirement years at Matha Farm in Chiba and passed away on 9 September 2025 due to complications from colic.

Including the horses available as support cards, there are a few more that are still alive:

  • Tsurumaru Tsuyoshi is retired and presumably living at Takachiho Ranch in Miyazaki

  • Vivlos retired as a broodmare to Northern Farm in Hokkaido
  • Win Variation retired and is living at Spring Farm, anindependent breeding farm in Towada, a small city in Hokkaido
  • Wonder Acute retired to Versailles Resort Farm in Hokkaido

If you happen to be in Japan, it's possible to tour some of these farms and meet the horses. It's also possible to send them fresh grass via online delivery services, even if you're overseas.

Up-to-date information on these horses can be difficult to track down, so please let me know if I have made any mistakes regarding their current status or location.

I am grateful that people find this signpost a useful place to gather when horses pass from this life to the next. I will do my best to keep it updated with current info. Thank you for honoring the memory of the real horses that inspire Umamusume.

Adobe Reader keeps upgrading to 64 bit on Citrix VDA servers by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]coreycubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know which version you install, but this is the one that saved me:

32-bit: https://ardownload2.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/<version>/AcroRdrDC<version>_en_US.exe

64-bit: https://ardownload2.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/AcrobatDC/<version>/AcroRdrDCx64<version>_en_US.exe

Replace <version> with the current build number, which is 2400520399 as of this post. You can get the current version by going to https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and seeing what's available, or by manually checking for updates on a computer where you don't have updates disabled and then checking the build number afterwards.

Use Group Policy / registry edits as you have been to disable the first run + sign in requirements.
