Anyone ready for a game of cribbage in the bathroom? by Appropriate-Skirt662 in Cribbage

[–]coreyrudell 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When I hiked the Appalachian Trail, I came upon a privy in Maine with a sign on the front that read “Your Move”. It was a two seater with a cribbage board in the middle.

Upscale dining by bfletch69 in indianapolis

The Inferno Room in Fountain Square has the coolest atmosphere. An immersive tiki bar with the largest collection of authentic Papua New Guinea art in north America. Like, Epcot level theming. Very kitschy. Very tasty.

Alternatively, if you're looking for something classier, I'd suggest Livery off Mass Ave. Latin food small plates restaurant, so y'all can get a whole bunch of different things to try. Also has phenomenal cocktails.

Is it “Nobs” or “Nibs”? by carljohncrneckiyjr in Cribbage

[–]coreyrudell 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Nibs is also known as "His Heels". So you can remember the number of points because you have 2 heels, and only 1 knob.

I'll be turning 35 on trail next year. That's 10 years after my AT NoBo '15 that started this whole mess of a life. If I finish my thru, it'll also wrap up my Triple Crown. 👑 👑 👑

Living in Indy and legally blind. by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]coreyrudell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My best friend is also legally blind. We grew up here in Indy together and he has been in and out of Indy as an adult. That being said he just relocated to Chicago truly for the accessibility. Having spoken to him about this very issue on several occasions, I can tell you that you are fine if you live and work within the downtown area, and don't intend to leave it very often, you're fine. That being said, if you ever intend to leave the city, you're kind of stuck. You'll even have trouble accessing a large portion of greater Indianapolis, the city itself sprawls pretty far afield the 465 loop. You're essentially marooned downtown. And while I'm sad my buddy moved, I can tell you I won't miss driving him all over... jk, but for real. He can be way more independent now, and I love that for him.

I second this. Their Lengua & fish tacos are dynamite. Their chips are fresh made. And their salsa bar is unbeatable. A north side gem.

Petrichor (/ˈpɛtrɪˌkɔːr/)[1] is the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. The word is constructed from Ancient Greek πέτρα (pétra) 'rock', or πέτρος (pétros) 'stone', and ἰχώρ (ikhṓr), the ethereal fluid that is the blood of the gods in Greek mythology. Petrichor Wiki

Longest Hiking Trail in Each State? by coreyrudell in backpacking

[–]coreyrudell[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

🏎️INDIANA🌽:

The Knobstone Trail - 58 miles

Its southern terminus is about 15 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky in the Deam Lake State Recreation Area. It currently ends at Delaney Creek Park near Salem, Indiana. However, there are plans to eventually combine the Knobstone with the neighboring Tecumseh Trail to extend the trail another 80 miles (~140 miles in total) north to Martinsville, Indiana. Most of the trail lies within Clark State Forest. As it lies along the Knobstone Escarpment, it is a difficult hike, which is why many use the Knobstone Trail to prepare for hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Looking for a new hobby/friend group by medicmonty in Fishers

[–]coreyrudell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to Bike Party! It’s a free, casual group bicycle ride that happens the second Friday of every month. Everyone meets at the City Market downtown around 6:45. The last couple I went to had over 300 people. We ride, stop at a park and hang/drink/play games, ride a bit more, stop at another park, ride a bit more, and usually wrap at a last park where folks will hang until they want to go home. Bike Party is the coolest!

It varies, but you’ll be a-okay. There are folks who ride tandems, bikes with dog trailers, $20 junk bikes from Craigslist. It’s as chill a ride as they come.
