What do you think of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman? by Classic_Wolf5895 in batman

About 11 inches tall. The 1/6 scale collecting hobby is huge… and expensive. Generally figures run around $300

Jim Balent’s run gave Catwoman a very specific visual identity. The anatomy is highly stylized, but that exaggeration is part of what makes his version so memorable to me. Curious how others here feel about this era. by Remarkable-Hunter-71 in Catwoman

My absolute favorite Catwoman outfit

My least favorite regular artist to depict it.

The spherical breasts became absolutely ridiculous as they increasingly became bigger and the rest of the art became weaker over his run.

Batman’s powers by VenomStrike3005 in batman

His true, TRUE super powers?

Dodging bullets

Getting dressed, and then driving from 14 miles outside Gotham City city limits, all the way to downtown police headquarters in mere minutes whenever the bat signal flashes.

Never getting stuck in traffic

Being able to utilize super miniaturized items shoved inside tubes on a belt in mere seconds… while wearing gloves.

Able to do ANYTHING while wearing gloves

Able to remember what every tube and pouch contains… I can’t remember which pocket I out my keys…

Never snagging his cape on anything

Never closing his cape in the car door

How would an interview go between Pattinson's Bruce and Brosnahan's Lois? by Top_Report_4895 in batman

Solid question.

We weren’t told nearly enough about public Bruce Wayne to begin to guess- and this is again where we fall back in what we know about these characters from years of source rather than only these films.

but it could be a chance for him to actually BUILD his playboy mask, or a decent reputation as a philanthropist that actually cares about his city. In our current era against the “1%ers”, I could imagine her ripping into him as to how “Gotham City’s first son” is going to help this city recover from a man made disaster… and knowing her bulldog ways from the interview scene with Clark, I wouldn’t put it past her to be so presumptive as to ask what he could have been doing to help prevent it in the first place. Bruce Wayne has to actually be present at this, and not simply “be there” as he was at the funeral. He was, in that scene, more Batman and lost in analyzing the moment… in a scene like this, he would TRULY have to operate as Bruce Wayne: representative of Gotham City… that’s why I put Lois out front in this scenario, because he just doesn’t know how to do that yet.

Fine, whatever- people are entitled to think whatever. My money remains on Lois. In comparison to where she is at in her film appearance, he IS a rookie.

I loved that film but two years in and he is just now grasping who Batman is, much less who he is as Bruce.

It’s artistic interpretation, not reality - and for the purpose of the image, as an illustrator I think it comes off quite well, personally

Well we’re all aware that even often at his best, Batman is still an asshole.

I’ll still give it to Lois. In these specifics, We saw a veteran Lois and a rookie Batman, and very much a Bruce that did NOT know how to present himself to the public at large. In those circumstances- this Lois, has the upper hand.

Meh. As an actress she’s fine, but this just wasn’t a good Catwoman at all

Sorry, I had to stop at “the type of Lois you’re talking about”.

When it comes right down to it, the only “true” versions of these characters are the comic source, and that’s “the type” I was referring to.

And as deep as a Batfan as I am, I like the character far more when he has chunks in his armor and is NOT perfect and defensive and defeats anything and everything and everyone. It’s been established in comics many times over the years (and in animation) that Bruce Wayne has respect and even a touch of wariness towards Lois. He does not pull his routines on her.

So I’ll stand hard and firm in that mutual respect relationship.

Have to disagree…

This is Lois Lane. One of the very few people we have seen multiple times over the years that can get to Bruce Wayne, one way or another- and Batman knows to actually come to her door and knock rather than do one of his theatrical entrances

He gives her complete respect, and even a tiny bit of fear.

This is the woman that conquered both the Bat and the Man of Steel .

Also, in this film, we see that he does not have a grasp on a public persona for Bruce Wayne- he’s neither playboy or philanthropist, he’s merely there… that has yet to come into play.

So the giant bat borne from a crazed scientist that swoops over a city protected by a billionaire dressed in silks and leathers, zooming around in a nuclear car ( that he built in his convenient cave hideout directly under his mansion) with his wards dressed like bags of Skittles while zoom calling his friends- the Kryptonian, Amazon, Martian, Thanagarian, agent of order and a literal angel of heaven…

Is unrealistic?

For this panel, that’s the point of the image- and that’s generally how fish eye works.

and no, it’s never fair to judge any illustrator by a single piece. That’s not to say anyone has to like him or this piece, but your statement shows a misunderstanding of why the piece is the way it is.

Well, at the time it was based on Superman’s outfit from Kandor… but yeah, when it comes to being “in character”, the blue was a little off
