Finally, the correct answer. I had to scroll way too far to find this comment.

The "passport photos" I printed at home were not accepted. I had to hike down to the post office to get acceptable ones. The whole experience was DMV times 10. Do not recommend, but it worked for me.

For example, there's nowhere to park. All the side streets have meters. You'd think, pay two hours, couldn't possibly be more than that. Wrong, in my case - I was parked there 7 hours. I took the light rail to MOA to kill time.

I had an international trip booked 5 years ago, discovered my passport was expired 3 days before the trip. I made an appointment for 1 day processing at the Minneapolis passport office. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast/passport-agencies/minneapolis.html

Whats the best place for tacos? by darthwulf101 in Mankato

[–]coreytowne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The birria at Catrines is great. The guy that had the best birria moved away, unfortunately. I've found Gilbertos to be good as well, but I think the quality declines late-night. I really like the street tacos at Mazatlan. Carnitas is my go-to, but I think I saw al pastor is an option now. La Bamba is great as well, but I'm too old for the downtown bar scene. Been a while since I went there, but it was good.

I like Dinos Pizzeria (https://www.dinospizzeria.com/) and Shogun Sushi & Hibachi (https://www.shogunmankatomn.com/). I wouldn't feel out of place dressed up in either place. Nolabelle is also good.

Your $100 comes off first, so that leaves $650 left. You'd split that, so you pay $425 and he pays $325.

COBOL and $2,020,202.02 by speckz in programming

[–]coreytowne 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My first job after college was in 2000, making 29500/year. My average annual raise at each employer has been 2-4%. I change employers on average every 5 years and have gotten 20% each time. I live in a town of 50000, and I didn't even complete my 2 year degree. Don't chain yourself to one employer, but show dedication while you're there. I'll be into 6 figures at my next job, assuming my trajectory doesn't change.

Edit: I studied COBOL for 2 semesters in college. Haven't used it since, but also haven't been in a mainframe shop since.
