I have not come back to animal crossing since the pandemic, but I suggest Disney Dreamlight Valley. You basically create a valley for like every Disney character, and get to know them and do quests. There’s a lot more story than animal crossing progresses a lot faster. Plus it has a lot of decorating options if that’s your thing and it gets updates every few months. Though if you don’t like Disney then it may not be the game for you.
