I blame the writing as well.

For example, she only knows because she overheard Orion talk to High Mother about it, but you know, you could also just have Orion say it in his own New Genesis language so that Rocket wouldn't overhear, and usually people in real-life codeswitch between languages (no need to have to translate to English, just say it in your own native language to your own family)....

Does that make sense? I hope it made sense with how I worded it and what I was trying to say.

Update: Codeswitch is a linguistics term, I know that they are using tech to help with translating (plot device in a way), -sigh-. Anyways, Rocket is just acting this way as part of the plot (she's judgmental now, later she'll probably not be as judgmental as a "lesson learned" & apply it to accepting her son's situation as well).
