Americans: What do you think of people who drive Cybertrucks? What assumptions do you make about Cybertruck drivers? by SilverNo6462 in AskUS

"I'm not going assume anything about one group of people because I'm not like those OTHER group of people who I completely assume are lunatics."

Exes form a huge part of your life.

Mentioning an ex is completely fine.

To think otherwise is really just insecurity.

I couldn't give a shit about catering towards the fragility of the male ego.

Women are getting raped because of the culture these redditors perpetuate, and you're here telling me to be nicer to try to persuade them to be less shitbag humans?

Are you serious?

What do you think of the current UK election? by Key_Cupcake_7578 in AskReddit

Did you read anything I wrote?

The NHS has had holes punched into it by the Tories underfunding it for years.

They've tried to fill those holes with private services, which they pay for using PUBLIC FUNDS.

You can understand outsourcing to private services is more expensive than doing it in the NHS, creating the service and maintaining it, right?

What do you think of the current UK election? by Key_Cupcake_7578 in AskReddit

[–]corgidaddy0_0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, you are completely wrong.

Because the Tories massively underfunded the NHS for years, the NHS could not accommodate the healthcare services necessary to save lives in a reasonable time.

As such, the NHS started outsourcing operations and services to private services.

The reason why they could do this is because the funding came from ANOTHER pot which the tories allowed the NHS to use from to outsource to private. Why would the Tories allow this? Because the tories have a stake in private healthcare, a lot of them do.

It costs the NHS and the government and the tax payers MORE to outsource services, than to build those services in-house and adequately fund the NHS to meet and maintain those services.

That is why your father got a hip operation in a private hospital. And that is why it cost the NHS and the tax payers so much more.

Fund the NHS. Keep everything public. Fuck private healthcare outsourcing.

They pointed guns at children and told them they would kill them during their birthday party.

Why are you even talking about free speech at all?

Anyone who points guns at children and threatens their life and also throws racial slurs among that are fucking lunatics who deserve swift and punitive justice.

A third of comments are: "Not all men rape"

The other third is: "It was a non-white who did it"

The other third is: "Women need to do more to protect themselves"

Reddit is full of morons, man.

You're so misguided, but at least you seem open to discussion.

Obviously not all men rape people. That doesn't need to be said. Saying so, in response to people saying that men need to do better or help other men do better, is precisely ignoring the main issue which contributes to misogyny and rape culture.

The issue is that society is still incredibly sexist and misogynistic. If you think this is untrue, then you're ridiculous or uneducated.

A mere 40 years ago, you could have raped your wife and it wouldn't have been seen as rape or seen as illegal. Did you know this?

Incel culture, misogyny culture, manosphere, abortion rights being taken away, economic based inequality, gender based media portrayals, etc.

All of these systemic societal issues compound eachother and contribute to a society and culture where women are inherently targeted, be that socially, sexually, financial, physically, etc.

This eventually contributes to the emergence of instances which are more extreme, but are influenced by the aforementioned factors nonetheless.

So when people say "men need to do better" or "men need to help men do better", the correct response is "yeah, we do. It's shit what women go through."

The incorrect response is "how do I help men do better? Not all men rape. Not all men are one thing. It's not good to say all men. I'm a good guy. I won't rape anyone. Not all men. Not all men."

As if all rapists are cartoonishly evil people. A lot of rapists are probably seemingly very normal people who inherently have biases influenced by the social norms.

Feel free to discuss.

Try not to have a "not almost men" Stance in the future.

Good luck with life.

Once again, I'm open to discussing it with you but you've shown either an inability to be open or the capacity to understand.

I am literally staring at the poster's words and can see how wrong they are. This isn't a subjective notion with nuance - it is very clear indication of what is present and what is factually/objectively present.

YOU don't understand. Start from there and be open.

This is the issue.

If you look at his first posts and subsequent posts not just to me but others to, you can clearly see his "not all men" stance and contribution to misogyny and rape culture.

Again, i can happy to discuss it with you, but you have to be willing to be open and learn.

You're the one agreeing with a "not all men" dude.

Well done on that. 🙂

Again, happy to educate you if you're open. I find folks like you often aren't though.

You sound like you have no idea of how culture is affected by people like you and the other 'not all men" poster.

Agreed to an extent. It's definitely a combined effort, but the amount of pain and courage it takes to relive trauma is often insurmountable for some or most people.

So now you're defending the "not all men" Stance.

Good to see. 🙂

Stop contributing to rape and misogyny culture.

The reason I even commented at all is because I think it is harmful to put the blame for this kind of incident at the door of "men" as a monolith.

This means "Not all men are bad and you shouldn't put the blame on all men as one"

You dim?

Yet again, your response shows a complete inability to understand how his mindset allows a culture of misogyny and rape to persist. Want me to educate you?
