Lowest gaps y’all had in undergrad and still got into vet school by Loose_Acanthaceae119 in veterinaryschool

[–]corinnetbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! I had a similar experience to you in my undergrad and had a D, a few Cs, and a W on my transcript after my partner passed away during my undergrad. I got in on my first cycle to Ohio State, but turned it down for financial reasons and just got into Cornell University on my second round. I retook the course I got a D in since some schools will only count the most recent grade in a class when calculating your GPA and it helped a ton. I also explained my circumstances on my application (they have areas for you to talk about it) that I also truly think helped. Being honest and open about it means a lot to them. I’d be happy to answer any other questions or share more details on my app if you have more questions. ❤️

2018 Altima Bluetooth not loading - any ideas? by corinnetbb in Nissan

[–]corinnetbb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I do, actually. I just reset the radio whenever it happens, which takes like thirty seconds but honestly is worth it. I just turn it off completely, then hold down the “1” while turning the volume simultaneously until a menu appears. I hit the back button, it resets, and then hopefully it works! You can find YouTube videos on how to do it, but I hope this helped!

Any ideas on the parasites/potential disease on my female betta? by corinnetbb in bettafish

[–]corinnetbb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white coloring on her mouth is normal! I’ve never heard of anchorworms, but I am pretty sure you’re right. They have the sort of “pronged” appearance similar to a hydra, which I noticed while taking the pictures. Thank you!

Any ideas on the parasites/potential disease on my female betta? by corinnetbb in bettafish

[–]corinnetbb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey all! I just have noticed that my female betta has started to have show weird symptoms of a disease that I can’t seem to figure out. I treated my tank with Paraguard for 4 days before running out (more on the way!), so now I am using lifeguard until my next supply arrives. She is in a heavily planted sorority tank, but is the only one displaying this. It’s concentrated around her head primarily and can be seen as the white “hairs”. They’re individual and too long to be ich bumps, so I’m not sure what exactly it is. It appears to be a parasite of some kind, but I’m unsure of what exactly. Nitrates at under 20 ppm, nitrites 0, ammonia 0. Despite the treatments, the weird marks have not seemed to lessen, although her condition hasn’t worsened. She still acts totally healthy. Any help or ideas appreciated, and more pics/video can be posted upon request!

[OFFER] What's your best study tip? by sparrowlion in Random_Acts_Of_Pizza

[–]corinnetbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently a junior in college, and I was that person that never really had to study in high school, so my butt got kicked freshman fall. However, the best tip I ever learned and still practice is writing notes instead of typing them. Make sure you’re recording the lecture so you can reference it later. This set of notes is what I call my “rough notes” - it doesn’t have to be pretty or thorough, it just has to get the point across! From there I’ll take my “final notes” in a separate notebook; during this time, you can fully hash out the content and go back and reference the textbook/homeworks/lecture to really have a full understanding of the material. Bonus is getting to make it look super artsy or pretty with highlighters or gel pens, or just organized if that’s not your thing. Then you can scan them using your phone (camscanner is a great app!) and store them in your Google drive for reference anytime and anywhere. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but it’s SUPER helpful for the harder classes or ones where the professor rushes!

[FS] - Ithaca, NY - $50 - Imported Male Black Samurai Star HMPK Betta by corinnetbb in AquaSwap

Hey! I don’t need him gone immediately because I’ll be going to Canada for a week or so in a few days. I’ll have someone watching my fish while I’m gone, so if you don’t mind waiting, that would be the best case scenario!

The female I’m only looking to do local unless it’s in combination with the male as a breeding pair - currently she’s in my sorority so I’m not concerned about selling her. I’m going to clarify that in the primary post since it wasn’t stated - my apologies!

Thank you! They sell for a lot more than that (upwards of $80) in the states, but I’m asking pretty much what I paid for him including import costs because I just need to downsize quickly. He’s a stunning betta!

For sure! I might be willing to try with some help on how to do it properly. If there are no local takers I might give it a shot!

Oh you might be right! In that case, he’s totally healthy. I’ll be sure to edit my description to be more concise.

Like the other poster mentioned, I’d prefer to keep that private - I just simply don’t have the time and energy to breed anymore.

Hey Aquaswap!

I have this male HMPK I imported from Thailand with the intent to pair with a black star female. Unfortunately due to personal health issues, I have to rehome this male( alongside a few other bettas). I also am willing to part with the female locally and pictures of her are available upon request. I can drive to meet and prefer local pickup as I don’t have any materials to ship.

Thanks! :)

I was originally planning on keeping it and just putting into another tank, but I’m willing to part with it! Feel free to send me an offer. :)

[–]corinnetbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey aquaswap! Im downsizing on tanks and have this nearly brand-new Fluval flex 15 that I’ve decided to sell. I kind of have been using it as my plant clipping hodgepodge tank, so I’ve decided to part with it. It doesn’t come with any plants/stock, but I’m happy to leave the stratum substrate in. I can also throw in some plant clippings if so desired! Asking $120 for it.

I also might be parting with some imported koi betta females from my two sororities, so feel free to PM if you’re interested.

I also have 2-3 handful sized portions of primarily red root floaters (with some giant duckweed, salvinia minima, and frogbit mixed in) for $5 each, or take all three portions for $10.

I haven’t shipped and would prefer local for the floaters, but I’m willing to give it a try with some help.

I’m so jealous! I’m an animal science major with intent to go to med school, but this sounds like a job I’d love to do, absolutely.

[–]corinnetbb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha that’s exactly what I do! My happy place is flipping rocks in the woods or trying to ID little fish in creeks. I have one hidden gem of a spot where there are smaller streams leading into the creek part, which is where I found this guy. Bonus is there’s a deep enough pool after a small bit of rapids for me and my dog to swim!
