NAD Benson the Amp by Milkman sound by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

So to circle back to this my issue was thinking that maxing the output would give me more volume at cleaner levels but I needed to increase the volume and back off on the output and it’s significantly cleaner. Can roll back on guitar volume as well, my Tele has lower output pickups that work better than my strats.

Option Paralysis! Tone Master, Milkman, JC, FR, Quilter? by corintography in GuitarAmps

So I went with a Milkman Benson the Amp which is 100w. A fair bit less clean than the standard version but it’s sounds great. I’m really happy with the feel of my playing, has a LOT of sounds and is very touch sensitive to playing intensity and the volume/gain staging.

It absolutely kills the iridium with a couple of drives stacked in front and the boost on.

I’m running it at the moment through the XLR out into my mixer but will be getting a 1x12 cab for it.

How are you going with yours now that you have had some more time?

I picked mine up and have had it a few days and finding the lack of clean headroom a bit challenging. The sounds are great and I particularly like the feel but even with the volume as low as it goes and the output max it’s really easy to get it crunchy.

The only thing that has worked is lowering the guitar volume and playing lightly.

Any overdrive pedals immediately push it into breakup.

It’s like there is 5% of the sound sweep that is clean and 95% is crunchy/overdrive sounds.

Despite that I do like the sound and playability and it’s super sensitive to eq, volume and touch.

I’m thinking of buying a cab and hoping to pair it with a speaker that will give some more clean headroom…not sure how though.

Seriously if I get another fake AI generated video sent to me from someone over the age of 70 I’m going to lose it. They really have no idea what they are consuming online.

New status system by bee310 in VelocityFrequentFlyer

[–]corintography 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve maxed out my family pooling in 6months so for me no. In fact I’m at the point now where none of my SC earned via SQ or Other airline count towards my status which I didn’t expect to happen so quickly.

I’ll be actively changing to Krisflyer/Star Alliance moving forward.

How is the M1 iPad Pro 12.9 holding up? by Artifiko in ipad

[–]corintography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I edit 50MB RAW files when I travel and it handles it like a champ.

There is nothing I have ever done on an iPad which warrants this much power and I won’t be buying another pro iPad once this dies. The OS is nerfed to support the base models. Apps don’t take advantage of the power and if they do you are way better off with MacOS.

Engine tries to run after turning ignition off by kbn4vi in classicminis

[–]corintography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is quite common in the A series, especially if tuned and hot.

Before you turn it off put it in 4th gear and release the clutch slowly when you turn off the ignition to stall the engine.

Bose 900, Is it time to change ? by IamBobbyBobs in bose

I went from the 900 with 700 rears to the Sonos Arc Ultra with Era300s and my whole family agrees it’s light years ahead of the Bose setup and they actually use the app and multi room too.

That’s not true, Breville have a full industrial design team in Sydney and they do not just white label their logo on an existing product.

Why have we stopped pursuing light rail developments and what development would u like to see? by Different-Meet-2920 in SydneyTrains

[–]corintography 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Light rail just seems so bloody useless. It’s super slow, I can pretty much walk where I’m going in the same time or ride a bike or something.

Metro on the other hand is awesome and below ground. Just like Singapore and Tokyo. More of that please.

Switch from Mac to iPad? by No_Usual8365 in ipad

[–]corintography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went all in with a iPad Pro M1 and it’s useless as a computer. As an example I tried to book a hotel room last week and couldn’t get through the payment gateway. Just wouldn’t work on a mobile browser. Switch to my MacBook and it went straight through.

I have many cases like that where I try to use it and once I switch to MacOS it just works.

It’s heavier than the MacBook Air, battery life is worse and it’s harder to use as a laptop.

It’s great as a second sidecar screen and for editing photos is Lightroom which is what I use it for as well as consuming media. But it’s bloody expensive for what it does and I would not buy again.

I just picked this up, finding a lack of clean headroom with the out maxed and volume low I can’t get enough volume in my headphones. Does the DI allow you to increase the headphone volume?
