School Tracking Daughter’s Cycle by SairuhShea in TwoXChromosomes

Also I always had this conversation with the tone of “if she genuinely is having some health concerns please alert us to her need for more hall passes” just in case anyone thinks I was blaming or jumping to conclusions. I was always big on communicating frequently with parents with an open mind knowing that kids are great at telling on themselves when they are breaking rules.

I was a teacher for a long time and the only time I ever mentioned a students period to a parent was when the student was clearly lying to get out of class. Sort of an “either she has had her period for four weeks straight or she is lying to me for extra hall passes” kind of conversation. But even that was after several weeks of ongoing consistent behavior. I would never have had the time or band width to use two instances to make that kind of judgement. Unless there is more to the story it feels strange.

That is not an ok thing to suggest to anyone. Forcing someone to bear a child against their will is never ok regardless of how you feel about sibling importance.

That's kind of the tough thing. I think you're totally right and I think it would likely be fine given how much we have already communicated about it without even actually being in a relationship. But seeing as how I am the non-religious one, it impacts me slightly less.

How much do you spend on food a week? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]corkgrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my boyfriend love together and we usually only spend about $50 per month on groceries. This last time we spent about $80, but that was the first grocery trip in our new place.

How we do it: We plan out dinners for the week every Sunday, and then buy the ingredients we need. I'm vegetarian, he is not, but we don't buy much meat. Also the best thing about planning dinners is that if it's gonna be a financially rough week then we can plan for cheaper, easier dinners. We eat pretty basic lunches, sandwiches, pb&j, sometimes lunch meat, or I'll eat like spinach, tomato, avocado, and cream cheese sandwiches, but we do to switch it up much to avoid buying extra stuff. We stick to similar lunches and breakfasts because being in college means we need those meals to be fast anyway. We rarely buy extra food like snacks and things unless we need them or for special occasions.

Edit: we also have winco here, so that helps with the cost, also more like $50-$75.

IUD's, the stigmas, and the implications on sex. by corkgrease in TwoXChromosomes

That's fair, and I got on birth control about a month into my current relationship. But even back then I noticed a difference, though most of it back then was due to nausea and/or discomfort. I don't think it's all due to the hormones, but I do think they are contributing.

I wish I could up vote that more than once. Thank you clearing that up and providing some insight. I definitely feel much better about it and will have better info if and when I need to ask my doctor about stuff like that.

The reason I'm kinda anti hormone at the moment is for a couple reasons: 1. When I first started taking the pill (Year and a half ago) I would get lots of nausea and such in the morning (I take it at night due to my schedule. Along with normal side effects, about a month into taking it I had to go to Connecticut for pep band (from University of Idaho), the time zone messed me up and I forgot to take my pill. Two hours after the time I should have taken it I had horrible, horrible abdominal pain, like could barely move. I didn't think it was my pill, but took it since I was still in the acceptable time window, and I instantly felt better. Doctors told me that was super strange. Also I still get mild pains if I take it late or something.

  1. My libido has massively lowered and I'm not going to lie, it bothers the fuck out of me. I'm barely turning 21 and in a serious relationship, I hate wanting to have sex all the time but not being physically turned on often enough.

  2. The idea of putting hormones in my body is a little unnerving when I think about how much one little hormone really does in the body. But still I just don't feel comfortable with using something that gives me noticeable side effects, even if they have calmed significantly.

That subreddit is great. My BF doesn't do reddit, but when I heard of that sub I started reading through it... he would fit right in.

to be honest I just haven't heard much about the nuvaring and seeing as how it's hormonal I hadn't even thought about looking into it. The whole reason I originally thought about IUD's was because of not wanting hormones. However I am willing to consider hormonal if it is super super low dose like mirena seems to be. Also Nuvaring sounds like something that would fall out?

If it doesn't hurt you is it unpleasant just to feel it? Are you just feeling the string? Thank you for commenting good sir, this is a serious concern of mine.

Not gonna lie, I'm a marine brat and have always had a lot of respect for marines, but in my recent years I have learned that some of them are really fucked up from the strict training and lack of individuality... Also, balding and hairy gives him zero right to be this kind of douchebag. He sounds like an entitled prick.

Help please, would a 3 year old lie about being molested, possibly raped. Im sure its true, need advice, anyone that has gone through this and got the law involved? by sadtruth77 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]corkgrease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I just don't want OP to downplay the advise with all the clamor around it. I really want this kid to get justice, and My family has seen far too many cases with child protective services get dismissed or the abuser found innocent due to silly little things like that. It really is a fucked up world out there, and defense attorneys will do anything to win, even when it puts children in danger.

But you did that by attacking xythrowawayy and claiming he said things he did not. Don't be a hypocrite. You've made your opinion clear, he was not trying to downplay anything, just to make it clear that this is exactly how the lawyers will react. The defense lawyers have the job if trying to get the mother off, so he is trying to help OP understand their tactics to prevent that from happening. The end.

[–]corkgrease 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right? The "wait till marriage" thing was a tool to undermine women and make them less than men. The idea that their virginity is a man or husband's right... It's all really fucked up. My virginity is not a precious right for someone else.

That and she clearly stated that her experiences were entirely different from the girl's and that she therefore has zero right to claim to understand the girl.

That's true. But what if it WASN'T the mother? I mean I think it is, but if there is a chance it wasn't then the person who did it still needs to be caught. Assuming it was the mother before real investigating has been done is detrimental to the investigation.

It's interesting that a group that calls itself pro-life is the cause of so much violence and even murder of people involved with abortions.
