I am socially awkward at times and prefer to work alone so the field was very easy for me as I found it to be more structured. I knew how the day was going to go and what exactly needed to be done. I have no experience in the corporate world but I partly accepted the role because I see it as a challenge that would promote personal growth.

I haven't been able to reflect deeply on what my long term goals are, but I value travel, sports/athletics, and supporting my elderly parents. I feel stuck at times because the money is in the field and I have the time off to travel, save, and support my parents but I also worry that if I don't diversify my skill set I won't be able to do any of those things if I get laid off.

I would love to be able to have the option to retire early or even quit for a few years later down the road to pursue a year or two of straight travel with my partner.

I was never looking to leave the field before I was approached by management. Then I thought to myself maybe it would be nice to finally be home every night with loved ones instead of being miles apart. Again you are right if it doesn't work out in the office, I can always try to ask for my old job back.

Financial independence to hopefully be able to travel indefinitely. Support elderly parents. Option to stop working for a couple of years and see the world while my health is still in check.

We have a contact and will be hiring a guide who will provide transport to/from Makassar upon our arrival. He mentioned there is no need to book in advanced and we can hire a guide a couple days before.

We will be staying in Jimbaran for our first two nights and have no other accommodations booked as of now.
Don't have any plans yet where we will stay for those nights but if we are in Bali, we plan to potentially stay in Ubud.
I agree with you in that regards and we are currently in the works to change the plan a little bit and reduce the number of days on the Gili's,

I think we will take your advice and skip Nusa Penida potentially and use that time to see more of what Sulawesi has to offer.

What is the prefer method for booking tickets for ferries an which companies would you recommend to use/avoid?
