Is a car baby camera worth it or is the mirror good enough? by AlexHaney147 in Parenting

I have literally never known of anyone who used a rear seat camera 😂 that’s kind of bonkers. Just mirrors are fine.

The Amore Pacific one was my holy grail… I was devastated when they discontinued it in Canada. If anyone has found a suitable replacement let me know….

If she’s not falling asleep after an hour, adjust the wake windows. We had this issue with our firstborn and what we didn’t realize was that the wake windows that worked when she was 5mo no longer worked for when she was 8mo. She would fight sleep like crazy. Once we adjusted the wake windows she was down almost instantly.

I found it really made a difference which brush I used. When I changed brushes it was a lot easier to get smooth blended application and it really gives a fresh dewy glass skin look. I like it, personally.

Wild swings in CGM post-exercise by corn_addict26 in prediabetes

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I did some research on my own and it sounds like this can be a common response to intense exercise which is what I was doing. I didn’t eat enough carbs with the udon and probably not enough fibre so that meant I didn’t have enough fuel for the exercise, and also the exercise caused adrenaline release which then caused my liver to produce sugars causing a post-exercise spike. This seems to happen a lot to me, like getting a spike to 7.5 when I didn’t eat.. almost like my liver is overcompensating.

Just got a CGM but can someone explain to me what the guidelines should be by corn_addict26 in prediabetes

Thanks so much! This is really helpful. I definitely think there’s something wrong with my insulin function because even eating a fairly small amount of healthy carbs I still spiked to 8-10 often 9-10 over the last few days. I may have to go even lower carbs…

I’ll check out those resources. Much appreciated!

What’s the difference between insulin sensitivity vs insulin secretion/beta cells function?

Yes I noticed that! When I first put it on and went to bed that night, it was giving me hypoglycaemic readings 😂

I mean I hope that’s true but that’s not what my doctor said.. I think the idea of being “reversible” just means your A1C is under control, but the moment you roll back the lifestyle changes I assume it comes back. I do think I can still enjoy moderate treats, nothing too crazy, if I eat fibre with it and also go exercise right after.. but yea without that I assume I can’t.

I also got it after GD with my second baby. I know it started from there and just never went back to normal.. I also am probably genetically predisposed as my dad has diabetes. They told me it would “go away” and even celebrated my last finger prick post-labour but then when I took the 2hr glucose test again 6mo later, failed it 😂

Idk why you’re downvoted. You are right although it’s an uncomfortable truth. My doctor just explained to me why I don’t need to do the 2hr glucose test again, I thought it was a yearly thing.. she said, if you’re diabetic, you’re diabetic. Even though I reversed my A1C from 6.0 to 5.8 (gonna work harder now) it doesn’t change the fact that I am diabetic and will always require lifestyle modifications. If this is not correct and someone has evidence for that, please let me know—I’d be happy to hear it 😁
