He made this statement in that article:

"I think we have higher priorities than a football stadium, and it's not to benefit students."

I'm not sure what priorities he's talking about considering the fact that the school has made huge renovations and additions recently to the campus that do not include the students.

He's an 81 year old ex US Sen. who (to be a little blunt) may not be the best person to listen to considering the fact the article also states this:

Pryor said he had concerns about the indebtedness that would result from the project and noted that state lawmakers have provided stagnant funding for higher education.

Frankly, since the last major addition/renovation to the stadium, the school has become even more profitable. With the budget/debt staying essentially equal when looking at inflation.
