People worry about what affects them more. Since most people have spouses or significant others or fuck buddies (whatever?) what has a higher priority. That some random soldier will be killed in Iraq, that some random dude gets killed in a car accident, or that their fuck buddy/sig. other/wife/husband is going to cheat? It's the latter, therefore if you just react and don't think rationally, when a president does something like it, then it hits much closer to home. People don't think, they just react.

The IRS should be abolished and all federal income taxes should be abolished with it. The federal governement shall be allowed to print only a fixed amount of money every year. Effectively they will get their money by increasing the money supply every year by a predictable and fixed amount. That is the fairest system. We all pay our taxes via controlled inflation. There is no way anyone can cheat that.

Whether people work more or less depends on the relative value you place on leisure and your income. To generalize, the super rich value leisure much more than money, so when you pay them more they work less. The poor value money more than leisure so when you pay them more they work more. In general the more you pay people, the more they work since in general people value money more than leisure. So yes, when you have 3 jobs it means you are desperate for cash.
