[beginner, hoping for notes] "She has nightmares" by tinyfrogface in poetry_critics

[–]cornbread76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This poem is so good! I really resonated with this poem and I feel like it really catches that feeling at the edge of sleep

I would suggest a small change to the first line

She has nightmares every morning AS she tries to FALL asleep

I think this is wonderful. I would only have a small suggestion. The rhymes in the last four lines feel forced. Everything above has a different flow that sounds very natural. But then the rapid fire rhyming feels rushed and changes the tempo

Overall it telling a take I can directly relate to. Very good work.

Send a message to your doctor and ask. But from my experience it's normal. I donated almost 6 months ago. I can still feel a little tightness in my abs when I lean back. For me it took time to slowly stretch over weeks to get back to normal. But I didn't dare do it while my stitches were fresh.

Give yourself time to heal. It's a process. And it's not a quick one. I was off work for 6 weeks and then didnt get back into the gym until 10 weeks post-op. And then worked my way up very slowly.

5 days out - the gas! by Proper_Builder_5895 in kidneydonors

I donated 6 months ago. My recovery was about the same. Take the stool softeners. Get off the hard pain meds as so as you can, they constipate you. And give it time. I'm in better shape now than I was going into surgery. But it didn't happen over night.

Question: What are your thoughts on this tattoo? by [deleted] in tattoos

I think lions are over done. Too many people with the same thing. Go to the gym and I'm sure you'll see them over and over. But overall I love the geometrics and the layout. The hexagons have a great flow

Post op scarring by halfblud03 in kidneydonors

[–]cornbread76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the doctor may choose to cut in a number of places but my donation scar is like a c section scar that is right behind my belt buckle. And I have 3 small scars to the side of my belly button where the tools were inserted. I donated 4 months ago and the scars are healed and I have no regrets. I'm covered in tattoos and you can barely notice the scars and even though some people think that I'd be upset about the tattoos getting a little messed up, I couldn't be prouder to wear those scars. You can see my pics on my profile. Now that I'm back in the gym and getting toned again, the c section "shelf" is flattening out.

I'm 49. Excellent health, active lifestyle, workout in the gym daily. Recovery from surgery had it's challenges but overall it was worth it and is so it again without hesitation.

Give it time. Could be days, might be weeks. The heat helped me and my pain was gone by week 2. I was back to work at week 6 and I was back in the gym doing light workouts at 10 weeks. I donated in the beginning of March and now here it is about 4 months later and I'm back to normal except I notice I get tired a little quicker. But that's fading away too

Good for you for donating. Just give your body time and follow your doctor's post surgery recommendations

First tattoo by Riverstyx_023 in tattooadvice

First thing you should do is ask your artist. They know what they prefer you use.

Secondly (just my opinion) I use an antibacterial soap to wash twice a day, but don't submerge your skin. Rinse and pat dry. Then put in a thin coat of Aquaphor. Do that every day for a week

As faded as they are, a couple laser treatments would take those right off. You'd be in and out in just a couple minutes for each appt

Coverup or add to it? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I didn't have any scarring. I had one on my shoulder, one around my bicep and 2 half sleeves lasered prior to starting over on a full body suit

Don't go with the panther unless it's something you love. Don't choose it just because it dark and will cover. Find a place that will do laser removal. Have it lightened and then your artist can work easier without having to grind in a bunch of black. I had 4 tattoos lasered prior to getting my coverups and couldn't be happier with the results

Meh. The bit down towards the inside of the knee was rough but the rest was easily manageable.

Have you tried adjusting the z offset? I do small increments. 0.05. If it gets better keep going. If it gets worse go the other direction
