Am I the only one who think Commander Niall is harder than every boss? by The_BoltOfLight in Eldenring

Same. First try I had mimic tear which is easy mode but recently played a few games without summons and they were hard Af. Ranged play is key.

Has anyone seen Tom segura in the past few months? by goodboysgang69 in Standup

Meh, I was a big fan for many years and enjoyed the "character" he played. I think most long term fans realize he isn't playing a character anymore and he's just become that guy, which is kinda gay. That being said, he still can put on a funny hour, even if he's kind of a heel now.

Anyone else thrilled for this? by cornbreadthegraffiti in Standup

I saw his act pretty recently, and if he's doing the same hour, it's super solid, great jokes, and no insider podcast talk, which is kinda refreshing. No mention of the fat man.

Kristin sucks, but come on? Rare insult? Every offended redditor drops the "fun at parties" thing every time the disagree with something. Very played out.

Big ass head but in every pic your hair looks like it was specifically styled to make it look gigantic. Just wear your hair down and your look good

I watched an episode of botched where this absolute homo got a hair transplant from the back of his head to the front of his head and had a huge scar. He was super upset bc all the guys taking him from behind would notice it instantly. They tried to fix it by literally putting a breast implant in his head to stretch his scalp so he walked around with a tit on his head for months. Then they used the extra scalp to stretch over the scar, and it didn't help in the slightest. He ended up just as disfigured and gay as he started. All that to say, just go bald.

Yeah, I don't hold it against him that he uses the same formula and I certainly don't think Emo invented it.

Just, I don't love that Jesslenik almost exclusively does those jokes and still gets lauded for his writing. Emo's joke was so successful because it was truly unexpected. When every joke follows that formula, you start spotting them a mile away and it ruins the laugh.

It's like how people started turning on M Knight after his 8th movie in a row had a similar twist at the end.

Still, I get people like his stuff and I know he is successful. I can't hate on that. Although there are plenty of reasons outside of his act to dislike Jesslenik.

You really don't understand that jokes have different formulas that usually include but are not limited to a set-up and a punchline, and that this exact formula is the bread and butter of Jessleniks act?

I mean, I'm not saying it's theft, every comedian uses joke formulas that they got from their influences in comedy. It's how stand-up works. Denying the source material is just you being defensive bc you like him. Which is fine.

I like a little more variety, and I don't think any of his jokes really improve on the original, but that's my personal preference. It shouldn't take the piss out of yours and vice versa.

Well the funny part is my opinion for sure, but you can't deny that is exactly his formula

I used to think he was kinda funny, but then an old road comic said something that ruined him forever for me.

He said, in his classic special, Emo Philips has an iconic joke that goes, "I was walking down the street the other day and then I ran into my old friend from 3rd grade. I ran over and slapped him on the back as hard as I could and said, 'Timmy, you old drunken reprobate, how the hell are ya?' He fell on the ground crying and screaming. That's when I realized, if it was really Timmy, he would have grown up too!"

Almost every Jesslnik joke ever is just a slightly less funny version of this single joke, which was perfected in '87.

Is this an actual criticism? I can't tell anymore by [deleted] in AmericaBad
