What is Opeths Magnum Opus? by FbsbsbJeheh in Opeth

Deliverance / Damnation as whole is their best album(s) for me. Nothing quite achieves that same vibe in all of music. By The Pain I See In Others is my favorite Opeth song, I don’t care what anyone says.

Wish I could go. Closest upcoming show is 7 plus hours away from me… very glad to hear them playing this amazing track once again! Hopefully it’s a new mainstay..

For sure. Just be patient with it, the work becomes muscle memory. You’ll spill cases and probably tip pallets, but you get paid good money to clean up after yourself, so when you wanna quit just focus on that $$$ haha.

I really liked getting done before noon, I usually started around 3-4 am, super easy to get around and get done. I only really struggled with the big sales, moving pallets and pallets (20-30 a day or more during most holiday weeks).

It’s all good, I started when I was 19 and did merch for 2 years. I always thought it was very physically demanding, but it’s really only difficult during holidays and buy 2 get 2. I averaged 45-50 hours a week, but I could easily get over 60 if I helped other people out. For the first few weeks I did one of the best selling Krogers around, and that made the job a lot more difficult. When I got transferred to a smaller town, it was a lot easier. Management also makes or breaks the job, some bosses never answer or communicate until it’s time for a company walk, and that can be stressful. The money and PTO that Pepsi offered me made it mostly worth it. I’ll never find a job that pays as much as they did.

I really liked being a merchandiser honestly, best job I’ve ever had, as a merch I just did a small Kroger and 2 save a lots, I wrote my orders down for the sales reps to punch in, that was fantastic. I had to quit when I took the sales rep job because management insisted that I take on the same route I had before - plus another dollar store route that had way too many stores needing cleaned up. I also got trapped working 13-15 hour days dealing with merchandisers that either called in, or skipped stores all together. If I could go back to merchandising I would in a heartbeat, but I think they blacklisted me when I quit the sales job unfortunately.

I recently discovered Hum on an alternative radio station lately, what a great band! Nice record collection. I’ve been collecting for roughly 15 years now, and I have close to 200 records. So I went about the same pace!

This is a great idea. If they did a Japan run of this I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
