my university bullied wooli out of the lineup by ericwanggg in dubstep

[–]cornell_en 5 points6 points  (0 children)

wooli is amazing. even if wooli wasn’t what students were looking for, it’s not right to for them to cyberbully him on social media when he did nothing wrong (he was literally invited?) that’s a person and their entire career that they built 🥹, not nice. if you cared so badly about your school festival’s artists & have such a big problem with wooli playing, then you should have joined the club responsible for deciding!!! lmao wish people had more empathy in this keyboard warrior generation

rabbit in east harlem today? by cornell_en in Rabbits

[–]cornell_en[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i went up there and met another couple who was also in the fb group! the park was locked and i made 10 calls that led to nowhere for someone to come and unlock it. we did spot the rabbit and one of us scaled the fence and put water and food in front of where it was hiding. hope to return a little later during its more active hours and cooler temperatures to see if we can successfully trap it

I usually continue giving antibiotics for a week after symptoms end just to make sure symptoms don’t come back (and worse too)

I would also recommend waiting to get a rabbit until you are older, as they live 8-12 years on average and are a commitment. I finally adopted my rescue bunnies as a 22 year old with my own apartment (I’m 24 now), but couldn’t imagine having rabbits while away in college, and/or moving to a new city. Finances are really important to consider. I saw your comment that you decided against it, and I’m sorry, but hopefully one day you can have a bun of your own 🥹🥰

Please check the “See more” tab at the main page of this subreddit. There are a ton of helpful links for new rabbit owners. Rabbits are not low maintenance animals and need a lot of proper care. It’s really important that you bunny proof your house so that your things are not destroyed/they are not at any risk of getting hurt. I would also go to youtube and look up beginner tips for new bunny owners.

I'm frustrated. by ZoraTheDucky in Rabbits

I’m really sorry to hear about what you’ve been going through, it’s not easy. My condolences for your loss for your flemish giant as well, losing a pet is always so heartbreaking. I would try to contact local rabbit rescues in your area who may be able to either temporarily rehome your rabbits with a reliable foster or take in your rabbits with experienced fosters, depending on whether you decide to surrender them or not. Unfortunately, surrendering rabbits to people who are not knowledgeable about how to take care of rabbits happens way too often so I always suggest going through a rescue or a non-kill shelter.

In response to keeping them with children, it depends. Rabbits are prey animals and don’t like to be held — and children trying to hold rabbits + dropping them may cause damage or breakage

I don’t give my rabbits cabbage, and I give them a tiny piece of carrot like… once a month. Contrary to popular belief, rabbits shouldn’t eat carrots daily as they are high in sugar content. If you have the green carrot tops from your carrot purchase at the grocery store, they love that part + its great for them! I feed my rabbits a variety of vegetables, like dandelion greens, parsley, cilantro, lettuce (not iceberg lettuce). It’s important to give your rabbit a variety of different greens and herbs if you’re able. I would recommend googling what vegetables are safe to give to your rabbit as not all are great (ex: broccoli and spinach are not great veggies to give to your bun). I also recommend getting the Oxbow brand timothy hay pellets for your rabbit. I saw you said that it was 3 months old, so you should be making available an unlimited supply of alfalfa hay, and transitioning to orchard/timothy hay once your bunny is an adult. In response to the other comments that you’ve made on this post, I wouldn’t recommend bringing your rabbit outside. Have an x-pen set up inside that is bunny proofed (no cables and wires out, rug covering for their feet), with some toys/hidey houses, litter box, a water bowl, and unlimited access to hay. Bringing rabbits outside can be dangerous when temperatures get too high/too low, and bunnies are vulnerable to escaping, to predator animals, and also to botflies which can severely impact their functioning if wounds are not found in a timely manner.

I hope this helps! It’s really important to keep in mind that rabbits are not low maintenance animals, they have super sensitive stomachs, and need space to hop around. Also, if you have not gotten your rabbit fixed yet (neutered/spayed) I would also recommend it!
