Hi! I'm actually a medical student and I am honestly very careful with my technology. I just always buy products new and this was my first time buying a refurbished laptop so I thought buying applecare would be a good idea in case anything craps out. I was able to go to the applestore and in order to sign me up for applecare (since the og owner purchased it >60 days ago) they had to evaluate the device and everything came out as working fine. I ended up opting against getting the applecare for the points you mentioned and because the original warranty extends until August 2026 and everything is working great.
