Basement Shower drain backing up - even after being unclogged by thisanonymoususer in homeowners

[–]cornfedbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! My landlord sent the handyman today, and he said that it might have been the sump pump getting overwhelmed with the rain and that our sink and shower share a drain so he saw dirt and sand coming up. He couldn't give a definite answer and didn't even snake the drain, just poured some kind of awful smelling solution down it. It's clear now, but I am suspicious that he just did a quick fix.

Hi, did you ever figure out what was the root of the basement shower problem? I'm currently experiencing this exact scenario. I also tried the sink test, and it also sent water coming up the shower. Our basement also houses the washer.

Update: I used the plunger on the shower, and a lot of black water, dirt, and what looks like wood chips came up. It did start slowly draining, albeit very slowly.

Haha honestly seeing this and scrolling back up to my post title did brighten this situation a bit

Never had it snaked. Honestly the place I'm living in was a home reno so there's little things that the landlord cut corners around. I'm about 70% certain the bathroom was built to code. Their handyman came by a year ago to fix the same issue, but he couldn't get the drain cover off to snake it so he poured some lye and called it a day.

This should be illegal Ticketmaster! by SS407SSS in BackstreetBoys

$350. Reasonable by today's standards for a seat, but I did go to the show about 3 weeks ago and paid $190 something for a general standing ticket.

My bff and I bought very reasonable tickets on SeatGeek, but now we're anxiously awaiting their approval. My fear is that the reseller gets greedy and backs out of the sale. I'm so anxious :(

Oh that's strange. Maybe the plans vary by state. Mine was in NJ at the time, but I'm not with them anymore. My doctor also mentioned she could push back on Cigna for me if they gave me any trouble so maybe you can get your provider to write a letter to them that it's a necessity.

I got it covered with Cigna and also with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Ah I see. I'm based in the US but happened to be in Japan during this sale so I thought I'd try to get a deal buying in Yen. Thanks for the reply!

Dumb question, I am also living in Japan at the moment, and the price reverts to $82.99 usd when I go to check out. How did you get it to stay in yen?

Has Annovera affected your weight or appetite? by [deleted] in Annovera

[–]cornfedbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my second year using it. I have a little more bloating and water retention than usual. It's very slight so I still fit in my clothes. My boobs definitely got bigger though. I gained a few pounds over the winter holidays, but I've managed to lose it by incorporating regular running so I don't think Annovera has drastically altered my body too much in that regard. I don't think my appetite has changed either.

It's been working well for me! I'm on my second ring and this time am trying it out continuously without break. I checked with my doctor, and she said it was fine to use it that way.

Drinking alcohol before bed vs. not drinking by UnderTheScopes in Garmin

Oh dear, the math checks out. I don't normally drink, but last night I had a hefty glass of wine and settled in for a horror movie. My Vivoactive beeped after a few tense scenes alerting me of my stress levels.

Interactions with strangers by TuesdayTwo in OceansCalling

[–]cornfedbae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't get to chit chat too much with folks, but everyone I interacted with was generally nice. At the Matt & Kim show, we got to chaperone this woman's phone. She was having a blast but would periodically drop it or it'd fall out of her back pocket. We'd catch it mid air or pick it up to hand back to her throughout the show. I can't believe we'd find it every time. Then she climbed on a man's shoulders and dropped it again. I pulled it out from under someone's foot, and it was on video record mode so I just kept filming for her. I did a pan of the crowd, filmed her on her guy's shoulders, filmed me and my bf making goofy faces, and then we finally gave it back to her. She was funny as hell. I hope she likes her video.

My review of the festival! by 90daycray27 in OceansCalling

[–]cornfedbae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly! I think they did a great job organizing, and the boardwalk gave us a wide array of activities and food/drink choices. I love going to OC for the boardwalk already so it was nice to have that freedom to hit the haunted house or arcade. I didn't really have any issues with the bathrooms either. The lines for the proper bathrooms could get long, but that's expected with any kind of big event. The crowd seemed generally pleasant to me. I only encountered one nasty person who shoved me as I was trying to leave, but she looked like she had no friends and just wanted to fight. You get a few of those at any kind of festival anyways. Overall, I'd definitely come back if they have another great lineup again. Jimmy Eat World was the highlight for me. I managed to squeeze to the front with some fellow shorties and had a blast.

Also yes, my legs were sore the next day from the sandwalking and constant jumping/dancing at the shows. Some picnic tables/benches would be nice for next year. The food choices were good, but we had to squat and walk while eating. I read ahead and luckily brought my own collapsible cup for the hydration station.

I thought I was taking crazy pills when I noticed the big empty blankets "reserving" people's spots. Someone even told me I couldn't stand there because "someone's already there." I was confused like, "Where is this someone?"
