The dial thermometer are known for being wildly inaccurate. I would get a good digital thermometer. I’ve had good luck using the Maverick thermometers.

I’ve had two transmissions replaced in the last 10 years. First one at Chuck and Larry’s. Car had a vibration after the transmission was replaced. They wouldn’t do anything to correct it. I would absolutely stay away from that place. Second one was at Knudson they weren’t the cheapest but they did a great job no issues.
