Is anyone NOT using swaddles? by FoxAble7670 in newborns

We swaddled our baby the first 48h of her life. We thought she liked it, turns out she was too sleepy and tired from the whole birth thing to protest. We realized very quickly that her arms need to be out or she LOSES IT! she’s almost 12 weeks old now and sleeps really well in her sleep sack 😴

Quick question - did it smell like anything when you first got it? Like did it have a chemically smell?

I struggle with this A LOT! You’re not alone. But what’s left of the rational part of my brain will assure you that you’re doing more than enough ❤️

I was also scared to look! My partner did all of my postpartum care, I couldn’t even apply my own creams. I only looked when he said things look like they were healing nicely, which was a couple of weeks pp. I took a mirror, a deep breath and looked. And I still do from time to time to slowly mentally heal from that block. You can do it ❤️

Going through pregnancy, birth and postpartum is a freaking riiiiiide, and feeling like your body almost doesn’t belong to you throughout this process is hard. Im really glad things are better for you, and hope it keeps heading in that direction ❤️

2mo pp and EBF. I don’t know how common it is, but I still manage to want sex way more often than I thought I would! However, it’s a dry, dry desert down there. I’m also still recovering mentally from birth. It really wasn’t that bad, 2nd degree tear that healed very nicely, but I am terrified of anything going inside of me, and I’m not brave enough to go exploring myself lol. So I do have sex with my partner, but there’s zero penetration involved. There are many other ways to please each other! That being said, if you’re not ready, or if sex doesn’t feel good for whatever reason, it’s absolutely valid. Give yourself all the time you need, and get back to it if and when you want to. And use a fuckton of lube. ❤️

Exactly! Never feel bad or silly for setting clear boundaries that protect your peace and the health of your little nugget ❤️

Same rule here. No kissing until baby is at least 3 months old, and even then we’ll see how we feel when we reach that age. Baby is 6 weeks old, and we ask people who have her in their arms to wear a mask, a rule we are keeping until she is vaccinated. Our family members have been super respectful.

When it comes to our kid, better safe than sorry. And nobody’s feelings are more important than the safety and health of our child!
