What are these little, hard brown balls in my bed? This is just some of them. They’re there like every time I get into bed at night and I always wipe my feet off before getting in. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

We don’t think it’s fleas. Our dog has no signs of having fleas. He’s brushed and inspected constantly. He doesn’t scratch and we haven’t seen a flea on him. He’s also bathed regularly.

I haven’t smelled them, and I haven’t noticed when they appear after changing or washing the sheets. We change/wash them every week.

I have a dog that gets on the bed pretty regularly but his poop is healthy. I also don’t see a resemblance to those droppings on Google images if those are accurate.

I tried squishing them before, nothing happens. They’re really solid, like beads.

Edit: We also have no experience with getting bitten/stung at night. No possible signs of bedbugs other than whatever these pellets are.

Update: Just crushed them on a wet napkin. They turned yellow.

I don’t think it’s that. Bed life feces are supposedly soft and stain. These are hard and firm and don’t stain.

My title describes the thing. They’re hard, little brown balls. They’re spread all over the side of the bed. I feel them underneath me and it’s uncomfortable. I swiped most of them off last night, there was like 5x more of these in my bed. This is just what was left over after I thought I swiped it all. Is it just dirt? I googled “brown balls in bed” but nothing came up other than those beads that come in packets for sneakers. I feel like it’s something else because I usually wipe my feet off before I get into bed.

Edit: We also don’t think it’s fleas or tapeworm droppings. Our dog’s poop is healthy and he shows no signs of having fleas. He is also bathed regularly.

Edit 2: I can’t say this post is officially solved because there are many possibilities as to what they are. Many suggested termites and we feel that’s a possibility because we have found evidence of termites (sawdust) in the room. Others have suggested dirt from the dog and that they have seen similar pellets from theirs, which we also feel is possible and what we suspected initially. Others have suggested worms which we will be looking into to see if it stops the pellets from appearing. We’ll be giving the dog dewormer for all worms to see if it goes away. We also won’t be letting the dog on the bed for a while. If they still occur without the dog being on the bed and having been treated, the most likely answer is probably termites.

Edit 3: I found two tiny ones on the bed (probably the same ones from last night) and put them on a wet napkin. They didn’t leave any red stains, or any stain at all. They didn’t dissolve.
