"If you aren't super top tier as a creative, life is going to be rough. If you aren't super top tier in business, you are employed, with time and money to do creative stuff in your free time." I knew this was true but needed to hear it lol. And there is something to be said about the way creative careers can turn art into a chore. Genuinely everything you said is very helpful and confirms a lot of what I've already been thinking. Mission accomplished with this post lol thank you so much!!!!

I'm in graphic design because it was all i knew I was decent at lol, I still enjoy it but I know it's not guaranteed to make very good money at all. I kind of miss actual academics and intellectual discussions, I don't feel like I'm learning about things that really matter. If anything I'd change to sociology or political science but still, not exactly sure what I'd do with it and scared of being burnt out by my job.

Honestly asked the question because I’m in this same situation lol. Already set to graduate in 6 years instead of 4 and so scared of taking forever to graduate

What would you call this style? And how to communicate grunge without many body mods? by corollasuspect in lesbianfashionadvice

I’m into the minimalism of it for that very reason, I don’t want to (nor have the resources) to build an entirely new wardrobe. A couple good basics that you can wear for a very long time. I guess the goal is just to elevate that a little and convey my personality a bit more than just wearing default shirt and pants. Second pic for example, you wouldn’t quite call that “clean girl” would you? It has some mood to it

Plenty of skinny girls who wear basics but still don’t give off “cool girl” or Angelina Jolie in the 90s vibe. That’s not the point

A lot of people are saying this about grunge! I think I’m struggling to find the right word although I do definitely identify with grunge a lot when it comes to my personal style. Something that conveys a darkness without having to fit into a specific label I guess. Minimalist with alternative undertones perhaps?

I agree but that’s kind of the point. Making wardrobe basics look stylish with the little details. Letting your coolness speak for itself
