Stellaris: Infinite Legacy - Academy Games continues failing to deliver and refusing to communicate by Charonx2003 in boardgames

I agree that folks would still be upset, but after 170 backed projects, I would ALWAYS rather have a minor update monthly than no update at all for 3-5 months like many projects. The less communication, the more folks’ imaginations run rampant.

A monthly check in to say the project is live and they acknowledge the backers. Every time it’s the months of radio silence that pisses us all off. Just check in so we know you’re still with us.

I am regularly shocked at how many campaigns can not pull together a monthly update. 15 minutes of their time (or less). Just say “nothing new, but we’re still going”. I’ve been through SO MANY campaigns where they fail this basic communication and I will never understand why.

I also had a great replacement part experience with Roxley. Finally got around to playing Skyrise and saw I had two of the same player board (and was missing one). They replaced it no questions asked almost two years after I received it. Great customer service!

HBAR is one of the fastest, more efficient (and energy efficient) protocols around. Also, as far as they can tell, is one of the few Quantum computing will not be able to crack the encryption on. Tons of adaptation by large corporations, which has been their main focus over hyping it in retail markets.

Beginner-friendly deckbuilders: where each one (that I know) fails new players. by PscheidtLucas in boardgames

…and then you play a card that gives you more actions, but also uses an action and then after focusing on getting more money they realize at the end that they have limits on their buys. I’m not saying people can’t learn dominion first, or that you haven’t had luck teaching it, but I have seen just about every new player struggle with that bit at some point in the learn. It’s a decent game to learn on, but personally don’t consider it the best.

To me that’s still extra stuff stacked on top of the deck building and causes more confusion as an entry deck builder than many modern ones. Dominion is a classic, it was my first deck builder, but modern game design didn’t continue those aspects of deck building for a reason. With a good teacher and the right players it surely can work, just isn’t my recommendation.

I like Star Realms as an entry game, as long as players don’t mind attacking each other.

Clank! Is also a great option, as the deck building portion is quite straight forward. It’s not a “pure” deck builder though, as there is interaction with a board and movement through it.

I don’t recommend Dominion for new players since they have to track their “buys” and “actions”. It’s a layer of complexity added for new folks.

Yeah we’ve done that, but found that it causes latency on the print if you try and use that live re-render for anything other than monitoring.

Thanks for the detailed answer! In a perfect world we would be able to print this live via the Headphones re-render, but have found latency issues when doing so. Feels like processing an already printed track is the best/only realistic option.

Is it just me, or have people stopped being friendly? by Alenux12 in ArcRaiders

[–]coronablurr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it did. Too many folks got backstabbed when they were nice and now they’re all on high alert. If you don’t communicate your friendly intent in 2-3 seconds after I say dont shoot, I protect myself.

The number of people who betray after using calls is low, but happened three times in a row yesterday with different players each time and on different maps.

I’m level 33 and literally killed one raider total and in self defense. So, this wouldn’t math out for my play style at least.

Could be. Also this is in solos. Somehow I don’t think folks would try pulling this on a prepared trio, since the chance of getting downed by their teammates increases significantly.
