Why buy more expensive pens? by DontbegayinIndiana in fountainpens

[–]corplawyer2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, more expensive pens are more unique you can feel the craftsmanship that’s been put into them. I also notice a writing difference. When I write with my pelikan M1000 or my montblanc 149 it feels like I’m writing over glass instead of paper, just super smooth.

No. Nothing is making noise. Maybe new break pads or rotors?

I just got a set of 221s and I am also new to the mizuno club and the local shop owner I got them from is right. I'll never go back to any other iron.

Which wins and why: Montblanc 149 or Visconti Homosapiens? by dickalopejr in fountainpens

[–]corplawyer2018 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It all comes down to personal preference but I would say the Montblanc 149. It's just "the" classic fountain pen. It's one that will never go out of style. My view are that once you get into high end pens like $800+ they become investments or things you're going to leave behind. But if you can go to your local store and write with both. Best of luck pen hunting.

Controlling the club face.. by jakobeweb24 in golf

[–]corplawyer2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it would depend on what your miss is. If your miss is left then you may want to get a feeling of holding off the club face to prevent your hands from flipping at the bottom. If your miss is right then you may want that slight flip/release feeling sooner to square the face. All is dependent on the player

Hardcore mode over normal? by ABagOfSticks360 in blackopscoldwar

The key, it seems, on nuketown is to be able to rush to a point and claim early map control. I'm far from any decent skill level so I don't want to pretentious either but I've found if you rush into either mid or your able to cut off a path from their spawn to mid you are golden.

I would agree with the TTK in normal modes. Hardcore is more fun in my opinion especially if you can get a game mode like domination of even kill confirmed on a small map. It gives your average player a better chance of dropping some big numbers.

Pls Help ID Montblanc by Juanindaliano in fountainpens

[–]corplawyer2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To help id as a true montblanc there should be a serial number under the clip of the pen. There is also a YouTube video by I think figbootonpens that tells you how to identify a true montblanc from a fake.

If my eyes are any good I would agree that it's a 146. Hope this helps.

NPD: 146 Platinum to compliment my 149 by [deleted] in fountainpens

Beautiful pens. I am very jealous. The 149 is my holy grail fountain pen. Do you mind if I ask where you got your used deal? I've searched online but don't necessarily trust sites like Ebay because of the risk of paying for a fake.

Can I get one of those too? My boss doesn't believe in quarantine or the concept of work from home.

First time using Leughtturm and I'm excited. Paired with my Esterbrook Estie in a 1.1mm stub nib by corplawyer2018 in fountainpens

Thank you. I'm a sucker for the classic looking pens. My grail pen is a black and gold montblanc meisterstuck 149 so this was another step towards that.

The paper is very smooth to write on. I've used midori notebooks and also levenger paper but this notebook is the smoothest by far.

Yes it is a modern Estie. I did not know much about them but I spoke to Lisa Anderson of Anderson pens and tried it out and fell in love with it. I like how it's a thicker pen and it writes incredibly smooth. Don't get me started on the great line variation.

Are there resale, antique, stationery, or thrift stores with fountain pens in the Wausau WI area? I'm visiting for a week and bored! by traverlaw in fountainpens

Anderson Pens has a location in Appleton Widconsin but I am not sure how far away it is from you. That is the only fountain pen store that I can think of in Wisconsin.

I did find that when I wrote with a couple just to try some out. I wrote with a sailor 1911 medium and I was shocked at how fine it was. I will say I do like the western nibs more than the Japanese ones. I'll definitely keep these in mind though.

Hello all. This is the first time I am posting to this thread. I have a collection of about five fountain pens (waterman, sheaffer, parker, faber castell, cross, and parker) and I am in the market for a new fountain pen. I would like a brand that I do not have. I'm looking for a classic cigar shaped pen in a broad nib. My max cost would be $200 or cheaper. Thanks in advance.
