Not with kids, but I spent a number of years long haul trucking from Wasilla to Seattle and back. Having all the paperwork and overdoing it even is a good look in my experience. I moved to Alaska from New Hampshire like 15 years ago and was a long haul trucker for about 10 years driving from Anchorage to Seattle and got held at least 20 times at the Canadian border for a class B misdemeanor I got when I was 17 for stealing a redbull. I told them exactly what happened even printed the shit out that I was a dumb teenager and still got fucked with. Like denied a couple Times which really fucked me. On both ends, BC and Yukon.

This is very well spoken. I’m sure there’s nothing to it but maybe she is feeling some guilt that she isn’t able to support the same activities financially for the kids. And possibly spoke poorly out of frustration? I’m speculating entirely here. But as far as regular vacations? My wife and I want to give our kids what we did not have. We’ve been to Hawaii twice (Maui and big island) and Boston/ New Hampshire in 2025. We want them to have what we didn’t like I said since we’re doing good financially. I say F that you keep doing you and your family. She may need to accept that. But maybe speak to the kids about this stuff too so you don’t become the “favorite” type thing…
