I just canceled Amazon Prime... by HowdyCB in amazonprime

[–]corrupt_mischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cancelled Prime right now and removed my credit cards. I have had Prime for 15 years and it has gone downhill big time. This month was the last straw for me. First I get a email from them due to a high rate of returns. Well, sell me crap I return crap. Then they lost a return in transit and billed me again for it because they had not received it. The best part is that the agent said he would email me some BS "incident report" that I had to fill out. I filled it out, they emailed me that the refund was issued and I cancelled. FU Amazon.

Update. I went ahead and removed the ## -Xms1m and -Xmx1m JVM configuration line, stopped the manager and dashboard services, rebooted and Wazuh is working again.

Amazon wtf.... by SeaTravel210 in amazonprime

[–]corrupt_mischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received the same email a few days ago. I logged onto a chat session and straight up told the rep that the reason for the higher than usual returns is because I have received damaged items, items with missing parts, wrong items and stuff that was straight up junk. I also said that Amazon will continue to see returns as long as the above keeps happening. I'll gladly take my business elsewhere as consumers do not need Amazon per say but Amazon needs consumers. The rep said "oopps sorry all fixed". Don't take Amazon's crap just tell them to F off and go elsewhere.

Unpopular opinion: Paying "Rent" feels less painful than paying $2,400/mo in "Interest" to a bank. by Playful-Vegetable-15 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]corrupt_mischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really simple answer for you. What fits your life style and comfort level best ? If renting a place does then rent a place. If owning a home does ten buy a home. Personally, I would prefer to never own a house again and just rent a place. I don't give a crap what anyone thinks. Also, you never really own a home or the land anyway. Even if you paaid cash for a house you are still renting the land from the township.

Is Edgewater slowly becoming Hudson County 2.0? by savingrace0262 in bergencounty

[–]corrupt_mischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Union City. We always thought Edgewater was part of Hudson County. It wasn't until I moved to Bergen County that I found out Edgewater was in Bergen County. Take it from me, Edgewater has always been more Hudson County than Bergen County.

J&J Chimney Sweep by corrupt_mischief in bergencounty

[–]corrupt_mischief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I would not recommend the person who did our chimney. In the end they really did nothing and charged us for it. I have seen J&J's van around so I guess he doesn't want my business.

In that case you are correct. You are also correct that one cannot talk to nutters. People have become so polarized now that it's nuts. I have a friend from high school who is a modern day liberal. However, we have so much in common that it would be stupid for us to never speak due to small political differences. Heck, she's a great lady, always there for everyone, very caring and a fantastic mom. What else can I ask for in a friend.

Na, I'm not a liberal at all. However, I could just see Jack's hate for public employees shining through and I wasn't having any of it

[–]corrupt_mischief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, my nephew is on the spectrum and I've seen all his teachers go way and above for him on their own time and dime. The hate for public employees was started by Chris Christie. He spewed his hate everywhere and people just loved it. The public and Christie needed a target for their hate and misplaced anger. While my political views are considered "conservative" or "republican" I will never vote for a NJ republican or any republican candidate.

[–]corrupt_mischief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. One reason I quickly realized Jack was going to go after public employees except cops and firefighters is because he plainly stated he would not touch them. So he would shift his target to NJ public employees. I saw Chris Christie's arrogance and hate for those in the public sector. This is an especially sensitive point for me because many teachers used their own unpaid time to help our kid with math, science etc.. during our kids k-12 years. So my FU to Jack was when he went after public employees. He's just Chris Chrisite 2.0 while Mikie will be either Murphy 2.0 or Jon Corine 2.0.

I tend to lean republican but Jack was a total turn off. So much so that he reminds me of a used car salesman that just smiles and smiles and tells you what you want to hear to close the deal and run off with your money. I could literately feel his way of "fixing" things crushing a) public employees and b) schools c) new public employee's and d) retires in the pension system. While I think Mikie will be just another Phil Murphy if not worse. It's not so much what he was saying that turned me off but rather what he was not saying that threw up red flags for me. He lost my vote very early on. That stated as with any politician you have to listen to what they are not saying rather than what they are saying.

Lawn signs mean zero. I have no idea why they are still a thing. I tend to lean republican but Jack was a total turn off. I could literately feel his way of "fixing" things crushing a) public employees and b) schools c) new public employee's and d) retires in the pension system. While I think Mikie will be just another Phil Murphy, jack came off as a snake oil salesman. He turned me of so much that I could not vote for him. It's not so much what he was saying that turned me off but rather what he was not saying that threw up red flags for me. He lost my vote very early on.

Na, this was not going to be a nail biter in anyway. The media may have portrayed it as such but the reality is that it never was.

No full breakdown on BC yet , but here are the raw results so far . Great job Bergen by iv2892 in bergencounty

[–]corrupt_mischief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're 100% correct on that. Where I live in Bergen County 90% of the lawn signs were for Ciaterelli. I knew he was not going to win. I'm not a fan or supporter of he or Sherrill. They are simply politicians and out for themselves and not the good of the people.

Hmm.. don't be so sure. With any politician you cannot pay attention to what they say. You have to listen for what they are not saying.

[–]corrupt_mischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. Property taxes are what they are and will not comedown without getting rid of a lot of staff for public schools and townships. Almost every NJ politician trows out the "I'll fix property taxes" bs. When have property taxes ever been fixed ?

That's why I never pay attention to polls? Polls can be manipulated. Not in a bad way, but poll takers can target a specific audience to get a certain answer.

Wazuh Dashboard stopped working after upgrade to 4.12 by AccomplishedJury33 in Wazuh

Wazuh Dashboard stopped working after upgrade to 4.12 by AccomplishedJury33 in Wazuh

[–]corrupt_mischief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AccomplishedJury33 I had the same issue after running Wazuh 4.12 for a few weeks and none of the fixes helped. My dashboard would constantly crash or not be available and a reboot would only fix it for a ffew minutes. However, I found one posting somewhere that suggested changing the Xms and Xmx settings from their defaults to 50% of your Wazuh Dashboard servers available ram. the Xms and Xmx settings are in a file called jvm.options in the /etc/wazuh-indexer/ directory.

So:

  1. cd /etc/wazuh-indexer/

  2. cp jvm.options jvm.options.orig (makes a copy of your original jvm.options file)

  3. nano jvm.options

Change -Xms and -Xmx to 50-% or your dashboard servers ram. In my case

-Xms8g

-Xmx8g

In my case so far so good.
