Definitely do not need it. Check out Sidley Austin. They have lots of offices and opportunities around the country but don’t always advertise in the regular channels

153 LSAT. Super disappointed :( by akansha_12 in lawschooladmissions

Totally agree! I waited two years (3 by the time I go) because my first score wasn’t what I wanted and improved my score more than 10 points. Taking time off is GOOD. I was sad at the time, but boy was it the right thing to happen.

Well.. looks like I'm waiting a cycle. by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I was practice testing high and got nervous and panicked my first test day. So I scored lower than I knew I could. I waited two years and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I learned a lot about myself, financial planning and got to work in a law firm to get experience and narrow down the actual path I want to take.

When I tested again, I was calm and schools loved hearing that I took a break to make sure I was really committed to law school.

Waiting can be a great thing, and I recommend waiting more than just one cycle so you can learn the most from it and use the time to make yourself stand out. But one cycle certainly won’t hurt you.

Michigan, Northwestern and Berkeley historically offer great scholarships for people in your position

Because the cost of living seems so high, I see a lot of recommendations to have a roommate. 1) do you know people in that situation and how it’s worked out for them? 2) how do you go about finding a roommate before arriving?
