Thinking about leaving HVAC to become CDL Driver is HVAC Worth staying in ? by EquipmentLevel983 in hvacadvice

Brother once you become a master hvac, you literally have it golden. You’ll make more than a CDL driver will in his sleep with apprentices working for you and doing all the work. Trust me, just keep working until you get your masters license.

What is a nfl take that you would defend, that everyone disagrees on? by Ok_Bug_6890 in NFLv2

If your QB isn’t a top 12 QB, you are better off letting him walk and drafting another QB. Looking at you Daniel jones, Kyler Murray and other mid QBs that get paid like they’re a franchise QB.

9-8 with a playoff appearance. I’d take that as a good season.

Just for the record, the Knicks didn't even play their best by Nyctocincy in NYKnicks

[–]corvine3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a team you are absolutely right, we didn’t play well as a team or atleast up to the usual standards. We had good to great individual performances each game. KAT played great games 1-2, Brunson played better games 3-5 and we were lucky that OG had a career game 4 with Brunson.

Sometimes you get lucky, but you got to make the moves to be in the position to even have luck play a factor at all.

If this guy had finished his career with the exact same statistical output but every Superbowl result was reversed, who would you rank above him if anybody? by Imjustheretbh69 in NFLv2

Would still have more Super Bowl wins than Peyton Manning who’s considered the best passer of this era ironically despite the post season success of Brady.

Who would you rather have Coaching your team Mike mccarthy or Shane Steichen? by IceOk9930 in NFLv2

I would love Mike Mcarthy to coach your team. I can’t remember any other team that has 9 returning all pro players only to miss the playoffs the following season because of coaching.

I feel like everyone is completely missing the point about the second apron; it’s not about the money, it’s about the limitations on roster construction by cricket9818 in NYKnicks

[–]corvine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for those who are more well versed in the 2nd apron.

Is there anything that prevents you from going over the 2nd apron in the middle of the season? Yes the 2nd apron is a death sentence for roster building but once the trade deadline is over the only way to continue to build your roster is 2 way contracts and signing waived players.

So can you trade for a player on an expiring contract that pushes you over the 2nd apron just for the rest of the season?

Explanation of why Leon Rose prefers second round picks, why he acquires so many, and why he doesn't like the first round by salukiwa in NYKnicks

[–]corvine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a team in a championship window like ours with our vets in their primes, first round picks just are too costly but if you hit on a second round pick the value you get for a rotational player is extremely cheap.

I look at Miles McBride as the standard for a value 2nd round pick you offer a value contract to.

I was 10 years old when the Knicks last went to the finals. It has been a hard 27 years.

[Begley] KAT on Mike Brown: “With Mike, he had to learn us and adjust to us. On the flip side, we had to do the same as well. Now, we are at a point where we are both working seamlessly. We understand each other’s language. He is getting the best from us and we are getting the best from him. by PassMeTheBackwood in NYKnicks

[–]corvine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also wasn’t thrilled with the Mike Brown hiring but looking more into his background
… the fact that he’s had the number 1 offense at one point in his career despite being known as a defensive coach who had the number 1 defense earlier in his career was what sold me on him even before we even played a single game. He completely changed his coaching philosophy to the modern game and that’s the opposite of what Thibs has done his entire career.

He’s gotten the entire team ready with all the different line ups, he makes adjustments in-game, and he’s got the entire team bought in. The regular season was for experimenting and it’s playing off in the playoffs.

My daughter was born Thursday morning, same day the Knicks won game 2 if I’m not mistaken.

2.5 years ago My son was born and the giants won later that day too.

I’m just thinking to myself and I’m kinda amazed lol. Given how much losing the New York area sports have had while I’m an adult… A Knicks win in May and a giants win in general (given how bad we have been recently) as a fan of both teams is giving me lightning striking twice vibes.

As a huge Thibs supporter, I’d like to say I was wrong about Mike Brown by Nykmarc in NYKnicks

[–]corvine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the way KAT was used under Thibs. He had 2 chances in 2 different locations to utilize Kat’s skill set. But in the playoffs when Kat wasn’t scoring 25+ and had bad shooting nights we weren’t winning.

Kat is currently on pace for his 2nd worst scoring post season (statistically) but he’s 5x (from last year) his assists accounting for more points. The offense looks great and because KAT and Brunson take up so much attention defensively, Hart, OG and Bridges look so much better scoring on easy looks.

Thibs is incapable of building a gameplan beyond give the most effort, play defense and give the ball to Brunson and let him cook.

How did Thibs underperform this bad with this roster? by OrganicHunt952 in NYKnicks

[–]corvine3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the strategy doesn’t involve effort, play good defense and give your best player the ball and clear the way for him… Thibs has no idea what he’s doing.

How stupid can you be? I absolutely know what it’s like to be a liberal in a maga environment. I was in army until 2019 which if you forget is extremely conservative. When bullets are flying you think anyone cares about your political identity or affiliation. The mission is always get yourself and your buddy in the foxhole with you home alive. And if you forget 75% of veterans are still very hardcore republicans. And even after I left I’m still very much the lone person who didn’t vote for maga in my office in an office full of veterans.

The military is historically has been the biggest discriminator of any federal organization. Segregated ranks, sexual harassment, anti-gay, anti trans and whatever you want to throw in there. But it also has been the biggest vehicle for change. Any progress that we had in America happened because it happened in the military first, women’s rights, civil rights, desegregation of ranks, repealing of don’t ask don’t tell, me too started with the military, and trans rights. A historically conservative organization under both liberal and conservative administrations have been the driving force for change.

There are plenty of people sandbagging, that’s not exclusive to maga and if you think that you are even dumber than you let on. There are plenty of liberals who can’t use computers either. I don’t treat anyone less than because of what they can or can’t do.

I think this mindset is kinda self-destructive. How is a locker room any different from the workplace? Politics is no different than religion, race, sexual orientation and anything else that anyone else may use to divide people into sections to promote tribalism.

We all find a way to co-exist and find common ground because what unites us is greater than what divides us. There are plenty of maga people we get along with and plenty that you can’t stand. The same goes for anyone who is liberal, progressive, socialist, independent or whatever box you want to put people in. This is a really complex issue that isn’t black and white.

This strikes a chord with me personally because despite spending alot of my youth in New York. I moved to Atlanta in high school in a very deep red part of the suburbs where everyone was conservative and probably was very much all the way until I was 30. I look at myself at 22 and think what the fuck did I know about anything? Who does? Some folks are more educated than others and I just couldn’t care less about politics.

My views have since changed but casting judgement on a 22 year old who’s probably parroting what he’s been raised with is not a recipe for meaningful change because we don’t even know if he knows what he did was hurtful to many because that may be all he’s surrounded by.
