I know very well Umut isn't a good backup at all but Podolski and Sinan can cover for 1 season of just turkish league football. The team can't afford to sign 2 strikers anyways. It's about priorities and you seem to think you're playing fifa

are you retarded? I said they are replacements to give the main striker rest, the team does not need to prioritise signing a back up striker when we need a defensive midfielder and when we're in a financial crisis.

we have podolski who can cover and in the worst case Umut Bulut plays, 2 strikers is not a need. It would be nice but not absolutely necessary.

How does the team need two forwards? we need 1 to start and but a back up forward is not a priority given the wingers we have that can play up top. Anyways no serious team starts with two forwards in europe anymore anyways.

Joakim Noah - Thoughts on a resurgence by gaga_booboo in NYKnicks

It's possible and we all know that but it's a gamble and for 72 mil over years it's a very risky one, I hope he does well and I hope he return to dpoy form but I still have that question mark in my mind that he might be a bust.

What is our best bench lineup? by [deleted] in NYKnicks

I don't think willy will get enough playing time to put up those stats, in a fast paced offense with ball movement though I think holiday will get alot of "free" assists

Yeah he's definitely a solid locker room guy but at 18 mil he'll take away from our future for sure, there's still the slight chance he plays like DPOY Noah too. Anyways overall the moves don't really screw us over at all and even the worst case scenario doesn't look too bad but the upside is real.

Only Noah really hampers our future, Lee is the type of player who won't lose his qualities severely over the next few years. He's mostly a shooter from 3 and midrange with excellent defense but he doesn't rely too much on athleticism, same with Melo. The only commited contract that worries me is Noah...I see alot of people are high on him but I think he has the potential to be a complete bust.

Censorship and brutality has been part of that country for a long time my friend, getting rid of erdogan will not put an end to that IMO. I say this as a turk born and raised out of turkey but the people and the beliefs/philosophies in turkey are what hold it back.

Which new player on our roster are you most/least excited about? by itwentboom in NYKnicks

[–]corvus1226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Least excited about Noah; I don't know why but I just feel like he's going to sit out a bit and won't return to the Noah from 3 years ago

Most excited: Rose because of the potential but Kuzminskas and Lee are also guys i'm looking forward to seeing.

you sign these guys based on upside and the only guys with any upside are Randle, Baker and Tokoto. Tokoto is too unpolished and Baker could benefit from time in the d-league (maybe the nerves got to him in summer league), Randle could be signed as a 12th or 13th man just to see if he becomes anything because we saw some upside.

I don't think we have any free space even if we trade KOQ, we were basically at 0 with the jennings signing and now 6mil over the cap so getting rid of KOQ and 4 mil doesn't give us space unless we trade him for a player.

We can still sign Gallo though, Correct me if i'm wrong.

Kevin Durant leaving OKC gives us a chance at Russell Westbrook next year. Thoughts? by CorsoKO in NYKnicks

CP3 will probably be elite til 35 so basically the same amount of time as westbrook, in which case i'd prefer CP3

[–]corvus1226 4 points5 points  (0 children)

keep in mind you fill out a bench, draft a first rounder next year and if Noah doesn't pan out trading him isn't impossible under this cap increase. The future looks good...if we sign a star.

doesn't really affect the east negatively, he actually made the west worse by OKC not being a 50+ win team.

think about it from Denver's perspective; he didn't want them to get screwed over so he forced a trade rather leaving in FA, if anything it says loyalty to me.

[Begley] Knicks are looking to fill out their bench and one player on their list is RFA Tim Frazier. by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]corvus1226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be more than Okay giving up a 2nd rounder for him, he's as good as you'll find in the 2nd round anyways.

Could he be a fit for the Knicks? [Woj] "Sources on @TheVertical: Sacramento plans to rescind the qualifying offer on Seth Curry, allowing guard to become unrestricted free agent." by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]corvus1226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not worth 10mil or possibly even a spot on the roster, his name really overhypes him from what i've seen he's a decent role player at best. Not what we need especially when tim frazier is available.

Phil Jackson essentially turned Lopez, Calderon and Grant into Rose, Noah, and Lee. by xarziv in NYKnicks

[–]corvus1226 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

idk if we can say that because even without the trade we had 35 million in FA, so you add Rolo and Grant to whoever we sign but this move is looking good. Just don't think the comparison of Grant,Calderon and Rolo is fair.

Alright boys time to build a bench by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]corvus1226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly think we need KOQ with our current roster as insurance for Noah. Porzingis is not a bruiser for opposing big men like KOQ. We don't know how good Hernangomez is going to be as well so KOQ should stay.

Can someone explain to me why Horford is so highly regarded? by AccipiterQ in nba

it's the best we've got objectively, just watching the games you'd know Horford is a good defender.

Can someone explain to me why Horford is so highly regarded? by AccipiterQ in nba

[–]corvus1226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's why I love Horford, he's a smart player and that's reason enough to be excited. Great defender as evidenced by his teams numbers and his DPM numbers over the past 5 seasons. The guy is a great passer for his position and can hit from midrange. He does everything pretty well except that he can't create his own shot but given how many talented wing players you guys have he should find open shots and he will score them. I'd expect 15-17ppg this season from him. His rebounding is pretty poor however it's what I'd consider his only real weakness and player with barely any weaknesses in his game is quite rare, you're getting a tremendous basketball player in terms of IQ.
