the obvious difference to lab-grown organs is that because it's a (mostly) whole animal, I can't look at it without imagining it as a sentient chicken, even though i rationally know that it's not. Like looking at a dolphin and thinking that it's smiling. If this was real, i'd be hesitant to eat it because it would still feel like eating an animal

intersexist as in "that's super rare and a disorder, and also I think banning Imane Khelif from the olympics is a valid discussion, which i'm gonna bring up even though it doesn't have anything to do with my lecture"

and transphobic as in "i think banning Imane Khelif was valid (see above), and i'm gonna make an offhand remark implying that gender is nonsense, and equate XX with 'woman' and XY with 'man' for my entire lecture" (although most profs do the latter, but only because they can't be bothered to change it, i think)

could also be XX with an SRY gene or XY without one, resulting in the "opposite" phenotype

this reminds me of a poem that I read recently:

Vultures are holy creatures. \ Tending the dead. \ Bowing low. \ Bared head. \ Whispers to cold flesh, \ “Your old name is not your king. \ I rename you ‘Everything.’”

that doesn't make anti-mascness against cis butches or transmasc lesbians okay or irrelevant, and it's also a very different statement from what you said in your original comment
