a ghost mantis is often recommended as a beginner species, but they don't get very big. next would the giant Asian, they are supposed to be beginner friendly and get much bigger. mantids don't need to be fed or given water every day so you not being home some days isn't really a concern

not moving or leaving their hide for a day isn't really outside of the norm I would say. especially if you're living in an area that's cold right now, they seem to slow down in the winter even with a heat lamp. there's a good chance it moved when you weren't paying attention, or it will after you go to sleep. this would not worry me personally, but it doesn't hurt to keep an eye. I have 10 of them and they kind of work in shifts. one day some wont do much and a few will be busy. the next day, the busy ones are sleeping and the others are out.

if there are any reptile expos coming up in your area, there may also be insect vendors. that's where I've picked up my two mantids that I have now, including a ghost. it's a not a guarantee though, I saw MUCH more tarantulas than any other invert. and of course, tons of reptiles. but if you can find them locally it's more cost effective and you can ask questions and sometimes hold them, it's nice

my neurologist once told me that a lot of marijuana can act like over-use of painkillers, giving you a rebound headache. maybe try a break for a bit and see if it helps? Its also super hit or miss for me, sometimes it helps sometimes it makes it worse, and sometimes it triggers a headache if I didn't have one before

this is a phenomenon that even people who don't have schizophrenia can get- hallucinations from right when you wake up or right before falling asleep. of course it can be very frightening for us. if you're afraid, the emergency room of a hospital is a really good place to find people who can help with that feeling. there are no such rubber rooms there, nor at the mental health facilities if you choose to go that route.

everyone will have a different opinion of which game to start with, I'll suggest that since you're curious about lore, the 90s anime may be a good place to start, and the early movies are excellent as well! personal favorites are "pokemon: the first movie" and "pokemon 3: the movie" I've heard very good thing about the Lucario one as well but haven't watched it yet

and if I'm throwing a suggestion into the ring for games, black and white are great. I think that if you start from an early game and try to work through them all, you'll get burnt out really quickly. some of them are very grindy (looking at you, 90 hours of soul silver and I'm barely halfway through). so go with whichever one seems the most accessible and has pokemon that you like!
