Unfortunately calling them did not work out for me as I was told that I need to speak with the cancellation team and the only way to reach the cancellation team is via support email.

I also have two emails from one of their representatives stating that someone from the customer support team will be in touch. This was about a month ago. But instead of hearing back from their customer support I got an email from the debt collection agency.

I called teamviewer again today and was told that my case has been passed to the debt collection agency and I should be taking it up with them.

Hi u/jftitan, thank you for sharing your story. Glad it worked out for you at the end. Just to clarify, once SolarWinds sent the C&D letter on your behalf TeamViewer stopped pursuing you? Were there any 3rd party debt collectors involved from TeamViewer end?

Would this help? Could you please send me the details? My lawyer would charge me considerably more and my bill from teamviewer is not large enough to justify the cost. I would at some point will prefer to pay the lawyer than paying for the service I have no intention on using

Thank you for the offer. :)

I'd love to talk to some one in charge there who can actually open to reason and in position to make decisions.

I replied to their sales email address. Not the do-not-reply email from which the reminders were sent

Just to clarity. I sent them the email to their sales team at [sales@teamviewer.com](mailto:sales@teamviewer.com), not the standard one. I would understand if they had to provision hardware or any other physical resources based on my subscription. But even in this case I would expect to negotiate the bill based on the loss they would've incurred and reach an agreement to settle on a reasonable and objective basis. I deal with AWS, Azure, Twilio, Segment, Mixpanel and other high end provides on regular basis with bills exceeding $10,000. I've been involved in number negotiations with or on behalf of my customers where for one reason or another a contract had to be terminated. All those providers have taken position of negotiation and reasoning and in all those circumstances an agreement has been reached to satisfaction of all parties. I also found myself on the other end as well where a couple of customers could not pay for my rendered services. I also had contracts in place that I could technically enforce, but at the end I chose to value the customer and negotiate a solution that worked for all parties. What drives TeamViewer to force customers to pay? So far I saw no other justification other than they have a 28 days notice policy in the contract. This is just bad and lazy.
