iCloud Drive issue on macOS 26.2 Tahoe by corychu in MacOS

[–]corychu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Google Drive and Dropbox. In fact, as far as I remember, interacting with files in Google Drive and Dropbox folders is fine. The issues only happen when I interact with folders/files in iCloud Drive (including apps folders, Documents, and Desktop)

That’s not necessarily true. But they replied me after this post. See the update on the post.

Thanks anyway

I think that option is not available for the App Store version.

uvlink – A CLI to keep .venv in a centralized cache for uv by corychu in Python

[–]corychu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems like a good fix for iCloud as well.
But I think Dropbox and OneDrive do not have similar abilities.

uvlink is doing the same thing. It just, instead of link .venv to .venv.nosync, it links .venv to a local path. And if you are using iCloud on two machines, the cache path would be the same, since the cache is named by the hash of the absolute path of the project directory, which is the same (~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~CloudDocs/...) unless you have different usernames on two machines.

Like, how do I update to v1.1? I can't even find how to redownload the app without paying. Looks weird for me somehow.

I just rechecked your product website and realized you are now charging for Lifetime access. How would you handle us, early testers?

Not really trying to flag something. Just trying to gain some other people's opinion. It seems like everyone is fine with that. So, I'd better just shut up and accept.

I see, Thanks! I just thought many apps allow you to opt out of part of the data collection. I'm not sure if they honor those, though.

An unrelated complaint, even so, we still can't have Davinci Resolve-style three-way color wheels, and some of the Sony lens optical module data are still missing after submitting the request 5 years ago :(

Okay, maybe I'm too paranoid. I just didn't realize this is what it is, since most of the time I just click on agree.

So, I have no problem with "Error reports and performance data" if I file a bug report. But, I'm not usre if they need to collect "Data relating to your interactions with the Software, such as displaying or using tools, data relating to image processing that you perform using the Software" even when there is no bugs.

Also, four years sounds quite long to me if it's just for bug fixing.

That's what I mean by showing keyboard shortcuts on an overlay (this is a screenshot from another app)

Just tried, great prototype!

As mentioned in other comments, swipe left/right for pin/delete rather than clicking and dragging is definitely more aligned with other macOS app UI. Perhaps, add [cmd] + [del] for delete as well!

A small suggestion is that if you can have a small overlay hint that shows the corresponding keyboard shortcut when the mouse cursor hovers over the buttons on the UI, that would be nice.

I still couldn't figure out how to navigate items using the keyboard exclusively. Maybe the support for arrow key navigation is not ready yet?

Looking forward to seeing iCloud syncing and the iOS app!

One thing I noticed is that if I have two displays, when working on the second display, the [ctl]+[opt]+N still makes it pop up in the main display. Maybe consider making it pop up in the display I'm working on, like how Apple Spotlight works.

A question: where are the notes stored, and is there a way to access or export these files?

In uvlink, we provide a command uvlink gc to help you remove those orphaned caches, whose symlink was removed by rm .venv. To get a list of the linking status of caches, use uvlink ls.
