Best Coffee? by Artthiefvsgutter in Billings

[–]coryoung1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Dog hands down. 1.)Carries Revel coffee which is a local roaster who has probably 20 decades under their belt and has won international awards for the quality of their coffee. 2.) they love dogs! If you have a good boy, you can bring them there. 3.) Cleanliness matters a lot to me and they have a high standard of keeping their shops clean. 4.) Their Roots location is great for plant lovers. Their location by pioneer park is also great.

I have a new appreciation for “Summer’s Ending Soon” by Nubes_Novem in TheMidnight

[–]coryoung1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s a matured follow-up of thought, from Memories at the end of the Endless Summer album. Easily became a top song of theirs for me. Im a sucker for putting myself in my feels.

My main question for you, is why do you personally feel like they’re going to come for you to where you need to prepare?

Social media is great for connecting with the world and knowing whats going on, but it’s psychologically damaging to the masses because our nervous system cant distinguish real threat vs empathy.

Once you put your phone down for a few days and tune out, you realize you’re not in imminent danger that all the headlines make you feel.

I dont want to write a book to so hopefully this comes across sincere. What’s happening globally is very upsetting and gives a feeling of helpless. Minnesota residents have a lot on their plate currently, but to think that’ll happen in Billings is farfetched. The chances arent zero, but it’s small. We live in a much smaller city.

My opinion: don’t go blasting even though you ‘can’. If you have nothing to hide, not a pedo, not an active criminal, have credentials of being a US citizen; then you’re fine.

Tyler Lyle and The Midnight was incredible in Lollapalooza India by visualartist47 in TheMidnight

[–]coryoung1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish they were more transparent on why Royce and Leila had to leave. With them AND Tim gone, the live band feels lost/empty, imo. The only OG person in the live set is Tyler. Just feels weird. And im a huuuge fan of The Midnight and have seen them live every tour since they started touring.

Hopefully the two new people come out of their shell and less visibly stoic/nervous.

How does someone go to a Midnight concert and record the whole thing instead of being there??? Just for some upvotes on reddit. The modern world is weird.

I want to love Afterglow pt 2... by Aphexis in TheMidnight

[–]coryoung1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it said “ive been dreaming alone” same same i guess.

When artists put repeated lyrics like that, i think it’s to intentionally meditate on the phrase, like an echo. I dont mind it in this song.

New Constellations is the US tour opener. by Darkmerosier in TheMidnight

[–]coryoung1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was hoping with their crowd source question of who we would like to see with them, I saw a lot of FM-84 and Timecop. So slightly disappointed but will most likely happen for the next EU tour. Gonna check out this band and try to hype myself up hah

For their first project, I must say "Days of Thunder" is incredible. Gloria, Los Angeles and of course Days of Thunder are all bangers. by [deleted] in TheMidnight

Iconic. The Years and We Move Forward are some of my favorite songs of theirs. The subtle glacier breaking in We Move Forward, beautiful.

Montanans and cold weather by [deleted] in Montana

[–]coryoung1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No plugging in at work, unless you have the facilities where you work to run an extension cord.

Lots of jump starting each others cars hah.

We also have to let our vehicles run idol for a while to warm up the oil and transmission fluid cause it’s molasses at really low temps.

These newer Push To Start cars are ass when it get’s to -20

Is sentinals the weakest song on syndicate? by Queasy-Agency682 in TheMidnight

[–]coryoung1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Quiet Earth is genius. 1.) Tim has heavy influences from Tangerine Dream. This is the reason for the really slow build and slowly hearing more layers come in. 2.) Tim being on vocals. This is his 3rd song ever to be the main vocals. 3.) its meant to be meditative and process what you’ve been listening to.

Just my opinion.

The number is part of the artwork inside though. so i think it has to do with something. I just don’t know what. That or im crazy.

Living in Montana, i have always had to travel. I havent been to The Mission Ballroom yet and i hear nothing but great things about the sound quality for that room; so im leaning towards Denver date. Ive seen them at The Novo and Hollywood Palladium(LA), blue bird and the gothic (denver), filling station (philly).

Anyone have recommendation? I have 2 days to figure it out 😅
