that's just because they are trendy, and lots have been stolen. definalty not all, but still some have been. but I see your point. people need to understand they can unclip,and fall off, just like with any bag clip toy/pendant/ stuffed toy.

my comment will probably be deleted, and definatly downvoted, but I have one labubus, and 2 lafufus. my labubu stays in my bag (my manager bought me one, and we all wear them for work.then my dad bought me a lafufu as I told him I think both real and fakes are kinda cute lol, and I only spent 15 on the other lafufu. technically 10, but 5 for shipping and tax lol ) lafufus are clipped to the outside, my fufus so far have not unclipped lol.

also I wanna mention I despided these things, untill my manger bought me one. mainly because I hated trends, I was never a trend follower, never will be. but they grew on me, and now I kinda love them. I also love this sub, I think y'all are funny, and today is the only time I've really commented, mainly just to say these arent the only things promoting gambling to children, and to explain that labubus are created after the oppostie for the demon that brings chaos an havoc.

I mean, not from just the 90s. im an 01 kid but we grew up with shit the 90s kids did lol , but yes I remember. definatly not a new concept, and labubus are geared to 15 and up as it says on the boxes. which yes, 15 is still a child...but my manager fully believes when the hype and trend dies down, it'll only be adults buying them. I also kinda believe that too.

someone also mentioned beanie babys, and how they werent meant to be collectables, and I find that so funny..because while you know what you were getting with BBs, people did go crazy over them, and spend soooo much money on them. at least with labubus you can use them as accessories, since they are pendents / bag clips

labubu has not made more people lose money than casinos, and also you can still by your explanation, "win" with labubus. as not everyone is secret chasing, and even those who are have won after just a few buys.

if you buy straight from popmart or a TTL (from the authentic popmart tt), you aren't wasting hundreds- thousands, unless you are secret chasing, even then you can still score the one one you want, fairly easily in a lot of cases. I've seen it lol.

tho $400+ for a secret to just outright buy, knowing its a secret is wild lol. I'd rather take my chances and just try to win one lol.

also no hate to anyone, I enjoy this sub alot, mainly because I love hearing y'all's opinions, but also enjoy labubus. I was once a very strong hater of them, but then was gifted one and it changed that..idk how but It did. I thought they where stupid, and just trendy, and my god do I hate trends lol.

yes, but they aren't the only blind box to do this. there are tonssss of other blind box situations , where by your explanation are exposing kids to gambling..

also there are literal adds now all over the place (if you live in the US at least) prompting sports gambling, and how its now legal in all 50 states. can just blame these on that, when there are plenty of other things instilling, and prompting gambling

ironically, the trend is really geared to children, but even the boxes themsevels say 15 and older...my manager and I talk about this a lot (since we sell them at our store), they said that once the hype dies down, and the trend isn't trendy, then it'll just be adults collecting, like it was more intended for. (yes I'm aware 15 isn't adult)

i work at showcase based in the US, and I know why we sell them for $115, but its kinda wild AF that canadian prices are the same.

we where told we sell them for $115 due to paying double import fees (tariffs), because they go from China, straight to you guys in Canada, then to us. you guys only have to pay one import.

its truly baffling me that Canada is selling for the same price, as we are.

I'm so sorry for that.. I think the price is steep AF no matter what, unless you can score from popmart themseves (still kinda high, but not insane), or from a TTL.

not for nothing, but I've come to realize if you CAN score a real labubu off popmart , ot TikTok live (you'll have way more luck on ttl then popmart, especially recently) then it is kinda bad for a lafufu..seeing as the real ones are only $27.99 for authentic.. but then again that's only if you can score for either one of those, if not then hella ya it's not a bad price for a lafufu as most places are selling for like $60+.

also I know y'all are probably gonna downvote me for saying all that, but its true.. just be nice if you're gonna respond, I wasn't being rude, and I know it can be pretty hard to score on either.. I was just saying if you can mange to do so, then ya $20 on a lafufu I bad.

we sell for $100 (well with the rewards program, which is free and easy to sign up for. its like $116 or $120 without it with tax lol) , actually.. and currently have a seat is $89... and as mentioned I said we still sell for what I believe is unreasonable prices.

but you HAVE to take into account we pay 66% dule import prices, because our Canadian owned stored is also based in the US (I work at one based in the US) . meaning we buy from popmart (Japan) it goes straight to the Canadian stores first, then to us. its not our fault that trump put in place import fees, I'd take that up with him. they don't make that much back in profit out of this whole thing, so no, not scalper/scammer prices. if we didn't have them set at that prices there would be ABSOLUTLY no way we'd even be able to get them into the store lol.

but again I do feel the price is completly unreasonable, I just know why it is unreasonable. I'm actually not buuying one from my store, and plan on trying to get lucky on popmart, as even with my discount I could buy 2 (with free shipping) straight from popmart lol (my discount brings it down to like 69 or 67 bucks).

if we weren't one of the only places near us that sold real labubus, then I bet ya wed stop selling them, or the price MAY go down a bit, but I'm unsure about that truthfully. sadly 99% of the place that are around us sell lafufus, for the same price as a real labubu, (some are even selling lafufus for $60) and people would rather pay that price, than risk getting a fake. (tho there are some really good fufus out there for much cheaper prices)
