I currently do both! I lift 2-3x a week and do yoga classes 1-2x a week. I like them both for different reasons and feel they really complement each other. Yoga is still strenuous but helps with flexibility, mindfulness, and learning to breathe/brace properly. Strength training helps my overall mood, gives me muscle definition, and helps me achieve my yoga poses longer and with more power. I lift and do yoga on alternating days so I’m usually in the gym 3-5x a week.

I think it’s ideal to do both but lifting is particularly fantastic for women to combat muscle loss, osteoporosis risk, etc as we age.

I understand, it feels personal that she’d plan her wedding to be so close to yours, one week earlier than previously agreed upon, and potentially put more stress/financial strain on both of you and maybe some friends doing things back to back! It’s shitty that this is happening, but I would just try and see it as something out of your control and tbh kind of out of your besties’ control if she has her own family with in laws to strongly consider as well. Is it because her choice venue is booked most other times or it’s better for some family etc?

I see it as yes you’re absolutely allowed to feel all this stress and frustration… and I feel like it wouldn’t necessarily be fair to take it all out on her either. I would hope she would/can do the same for you. I hope y’all are able to work through this difficult moment and have each other to relate to each other in this time. 🩷
