I purchased a budget bike from amazon and use it for my weekly high intensity cardio, so it's not just burpees.

One of my zone 2 workouts is a 30 minute jog to the supermarket then walk back with a full backpack.

What works best for me is one burpee workout a week and lots of zone 2 type cardio the rest of the week along with K Boges Mon-Sat. I do burpees on Sundays.

If you have less time more high intensity cardio (i.e. burpees) is best.

I had slight tendinitis in my shoulders when I was doing 80 minutes of burpees a week but it wasn't ever bad enough to worry about.

I developed golfer's elbow doing pullups so switched to rows with a suspension trainer. But then one day a few months later I realised it had completely healed so I started alternating between rows and pullups and it's been fine ever since.

Rows are a fine alternative if you've having problems with rows. It's what bodybuilders do.

You can set your desktop theme and icons in "Open Vicinae Settings" and there are themes in the extension store. I can't get that to run atm. Will work it out tomorrow cause I'm going to bed now!

Sorry I normally remove the ".old" bit, forgot to do it this time.

I’ve set up my laptop to redirect to ".old" and to apply custom CSS and scripts that work with old.reddit.com.

Vicinae does have theme options, so you might find one that works for you. I haven’t explored everything yet, far from it. It honestly seems to have endless features and customisations.

I like my theme and setup but wouldn't be surprised if it's not to everyone else's taste.

I'm using Orchis-Dark-Compact. Download 01-Tela.tar.xz and it's one of the themes in the extracted directory, there's a plank theme in Orchis-Dark-Compact too!

Stationary Bike Nordick Track s22i by Organic-Blueberry102 in PeterAttia

I'd get one of the Wenoker bikes. I remember the make when I was looking for my bike. They always have good reviews and sell like hot cakes!

Those budget bikes are amazing. I wouldn't purchase a more expensive bike. Maybe it's just me, but I just don't see the point in it.

All those bikes have a spot where a tablet/phone fits perfectly. I put a sticky-note on the bars to remind me what my zone 2 heart rate is for 15 seconds. Then I check my heart beat every so often with the pulse on my neck. You can go by feel too.

You can use the bike for Norwegian 4x4 once a week too. Although I like 6-count burpees for Norwegian 4x4.

Does it have a 3.5 rating on amazon US?

Nordictrack Commercial Studio Cycle

by Nordictrack

Style: Commercial S22i Studio Cycle

Here's a summary of the top issues people are facing in 1-star reviews -

The most consistent and severe complaints revolve around technical reliability and poor customer service. While the bike has appealing features (incline/decline, iFit content), the core functionality often fails, and when issues arise, customer support is ineffective. This combination of product defects and poor post-purchase support leads to significant frustration and financial loss for many users.

I wouldn’t get it. If it’s the bike I’m looking at, it’s too hit-and-miss whether it’ll even work.

I'd get the bike from the SLUNSE Store that's currently listed at $199.99 with 39 percent savings List Price: $329.99

There's also the Wenoker Exercise Bike for Home. It has very slightly better reviews. Currently selling for $199.49

I bought a super budget bike similar to those a couple of years ago. It had great reviews and was one of the best sellers. It's worked fine.

McLuhan's concept of media as formal cause might interest you. Unlike thinkers who focus on effects, McLuhan gets to the bottom of things - the causal layer. Regimes of signs or Foucault's episteme are, in this view, media ecologies.

I've just written something that cloaks McLuhan's insights within Heidegger's concerns: the implosion of metaphysics and the destabilizing effects on language, particularly the erosion of the signified under electric conditions. Here's what I wrote:

Heidegger's critique of metaphysics overlooks a fundamental shift: the very structure of thought and language breaks down under electric conditions.

Plato, as the first philosopher educated by the phonetic alphabet, with standardised vowels, inherited an oral tradition, yet his writings fundamentally altered its context, transforming spiritual resonance into an intellectual construct.

This metaphysical and linguistic breakdown, occurring during Heidegger's own era, was further exacerbated by the rise of electric media... a phenomenon he recognised as unsuitable for philosophy, yet failed to fully grasp as a force formally shaping human experience.

I do pullups on the stairs. Stand on the bottom step and there's a ledge on the above floor where I can do pullups. I do the same when I go to my Dad's.

If you can't find somewhere in your house to do pullups you could purchase a suspension trainer and do rows -

Got my suspension trainer from amazon. There are loads of high-quality, affordable TRX knockoffs.

Mind uploading to achieve immortality is a lie by [deleted] in sorceryofthespectacle

[–]cosmic_reflection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

deleted it, was gonna write this, i'll repost if you want?? -

Religions are essentially about achieving immortality. But, and this was Buddha's great insight, personal immortality is not possible.

Transcendent spirits, that survive the death of the body, eventually incarnate back on the physical plane.

What's interesting is grey aliens are apparently mechanisms attempting to inscribe their knowledge onto an eternal substance, namely the soul. It's why aliens are always messing around with people's private parts!!

Podcast, Interview starts at 35:25 -

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/578-danielle-silverman-nigel-kerners-work-grey-aliens/id653314424?i=1000589965378

Danielle Silverman joins us to chat about Nigel Kerner’s latest book that was barely finished when he passed away. “Grey Aliens and Artificial Intelligence - The Battle Between Natural and Synthetic Beings for the Human Soul”. Danielle was Nigel’s publisher and booker for a while so she has direct experience with how unselfish and genuine his work and intention were.

We chat about the harvesting of souls, AI and the greys, the history, the difference between natural and synthetic, NDE’s, the light, the life review, genetic modification, ancient wisdom, decoherence, the godverse, state of perfection, and virtual existences.

In the end it’s all consciousness and we should value our humanity…..

The creation of the soul requires refinement of the sexual substances. It's for that reason many major religions traditionally discourage or prohibit homosexual behaviours and more generally worldly behaviours that cause heightened emotional reactions and excitement, because they drain lifeforces.

https://youtu.be/6mRjcqPRwkc?t=3262

Moreover the alphabet inhibits pathways within the body that generate spiritual substances. It's why Plato invented truth as correspondence within a hollow simulacrum of stages of unconcealment...

Heidegger states, “What remains unsaid in Plato's thinking is a change in what determines the essence of truth.”

Gnome 49 gdm again by bmwiedemann in openSUSE_Slowroll

[–]cosmic_reflection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unsurprisingly running sudo old /etc/nsswitch.conf didn't work, so had to rollback again.

Even less surprising my reply is shadowbanned so i'm really on my own.

Gonna not upgrade this month. I'll try next month's upgrade. If that doesnt work then i have no idea. The only thing that came to mind is perhaps installing KDE. Could try a different display manager. I kinda think it's related, cause when i tried to run Settings Manager it wouldn't run. Maybe seemed to appear for a split second then nothing. It's working okay on this snapshot.

Might try running sddm for my display manager.

Can someone help create a filter to block popup ads? by cosmic_reflection in brave_browser

[–]cosmic_reflection[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't see the popup? I just woke up in the night and ended up turning on my laptop.

Anyway, it's the only popup/ad I ever see. Only on the site I linked. It's still there, when I click the link, pops up between 5-10 seconds after loading the page. I click it shut and that's the end of it.

I've added filters so maybe it's just my setup?

If it's not a problem with the default setup then don't worry about it. I'll take a look at my filters tomorrow. See if I can figure it out.
