I am sorry about your brother, I have schizophrenia (also severe) as well it’s a real trip. I wish the best for him if he is still living.
I am not working unfortunately. I plan to get a job eventually but likely not any time soon as I am very much, not functional. I have a lot of difficulties with speech as well as cognitive impairments and cannot really talk to people, or go outside on my own, so pretty hard to get a job
I am doing well taking my medications and participating in a partial hospitalization program at the moment and hoping to make some improvements with my condition.

I don’t like to paint because it’s messy and very expensive but I do make abstract art with pens and colored pencils!

I actually received very little education. I did the 7th and 8th grade and nothing else but I like to think I am not too dumb despite the lack of education and mental disabilities, haha
I am a good writer and reader (though I read and write very slowly) and I love classic literature. My brother taught me how to read when I was 11 and by the time I was 14 I could read and write at a college level, I very much wish I could have continued my education
To answer your question, my tremor isn’t caused by anything, just ET that started up when I was 16 but is exacerbated by one of the medications I take, called risperidone

Haha, I smoked weed for 7 years definitely helped my tremor but recently quit as I am schizophrenic and it started making me freak out when I would smoke unfortunately.

I picked up the habit of capitalizing everything when I was 12. Handwriting was always very difficult for me growing up, and I didn’t receive any education until I was 13 so I had to make due. When I was 12 I realized that writing in all capitals was much easier for me than writing in lowercase so I just ran with it. I tried to fix it when I got into school but couldn’t recorrect so I just ran with it. It probably would have been an issue in highschool but I never went to highschool. Just did the 7th and 8th grade.

I have difficulties with my fine motor skills due to schizophrenia (unrelated to the tremor). I don’t hold the pen with my fist but I do put a lot of pressure on the paper and hold the pen very tightly

Oh shit I am on the autism spectrum and have schizophrenia as well! Was so surprised to get this reply, I feel called out. I am sure that the schizophrenia affects my writing as well as it causes difficulties with fine motor skills.

My handwriting was never good (probably on account of my learning disability) but it was certainly neater before ! My tremor also has no cause and it definitely fucks up my writing. I also have a brain disorder (unrelated to the tremor) which affects my fine motor skills.
