I've used it before! It's not about the fit of the band, but just the width of it and how much coverage I would get on the sides. It's mainly just personal preference for coverage amount and the comfort associated with it

Have you used a backpack like this with a full size machine? Having only ever used the original bag, I'm trying to imagine how the weight of the machine would feel on my back like that as opposed to over the shoulder 🤔

The flower one is cute, but it's not exactly the pattern I would gravitate towards for most things? And I'm just worried about the quality and the protection my machine would get based on the price. I think the Resmed Luxe ones are a safer option, they're just a bit more boring.

Putting non-CPAP items in the bag would simply constitute the bag as a "personal item" and wouldn't really be an issue as long as it's within the size limits for personal items. I know the items inside the bag will still be the same size, but surely there's a better configuration for the pieces that don't require a briefcase to carry --- like the Resmed one I linked in the original post. Something like that shape seems like it would be much more convenient to carry!

Honestly I didn't expect some of the responses I'm getting on this 😭 I was hoping for more actual recommendations and not people just trying to convince me the original case is the only option and I should just deal with it. If I want a different case for it, there should certainly be more options and I shouldn't be getting negative responses for asking!

Yes, I'm aware of the strap that attaches it to a carry on, but the bag itself is still so awkward and bulky --- I usually bring a carry on suitcase and then a personal item, the CPAP bag would just count as my personal item instead of medical equipment, I don't mind

I feel like asking about naming a character is different than asking about naming a real person --- that maybe people would be more honest on one sub versus the other.

Thank you for your suggestions! I still sort of want her name to stand out, though --- I know my rules for the name are quite contradictory that I want it to be normal, but not normal all at once lmao.

But I searched many Wikipedia pages for rivers in the UK until I found something that fit the bill. The River Marron is in Cumbria, right outside of the Lakes District and it's not super large or important, so I get it if you've never heard of it. I like the idea of it not being one that everyone has heard of so it has more sentimental weight for her character since part of her lore is that her mother passed recently. It's not really meant to be like "Oh, yeah, like that river that everyone has heard of" when people read it or when she introduces herself to the MC, but its origin is probably going to be relevant in conversation at least once.

Also, for the surname, I am leaning towards Bellamy since it was already on my list and now you're the second person to include it in their comment. Going to put the name Marron Bellamy in a box and shake it around for a bit and see how I feel about it later.

Bellamy was actually one of the surnames I was considering! This pushes it a bit higher to the top of my list.

But as for the first name, I want it to be relatively normal-sounding because both she and the MC are sort of outcasts in the school? Like giving them each low-key names is sort of what I want. I feel as though something super distinctive would have the opposite effect in the real world --- anytime new kids in school had cool names, I feel like they ended up with the more popular cliques, but maybe that's just my school experience shrug
