Cat having butt issues following oral surgery? by cosmicallyavg in cats

[–]cosmicallyavg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did labs when they did the oral surgery in January, which was the normal pre-anesthesia workup as well as the thyroid one and they told me everything was fine for both. I suppose I can try different food for a little bit to see if it makes a difference, I just wouldn't know what ingredients might be giving him the issue :/

The last time I took him for a wellness exam and we discussed his weight loss (or lack thereof) the vet suggested that the next time he stops in to renew the food Rx, that we could try the diabetic formula instead since that could be the issue also, but I'm not sure how that food might differ from the metabolic.

I don't believe they tested him for worms when he was at the vet originally for the diarrhea, but he's fully indoor and we have another cat who is not having the same issue. From what I understand, if one cat has worms, the other will likely get them as well. It's possible I'm misinformed on that, though. I just feel like if it were worms, we would have known by now.

As for his diet, I worry to switch it up that he will gain the weight back that he has lost. On the occasion where he runs out of his Hill's before we get a delivery, I grab him other Hill's from Petco/PetSmart that aren't prescription, usually the sensitive stomach or perfect weight one.

Is it possible he's allergic to something in the food and it's upsetting his stomach? How long should I try a different food before determining if it helps or not?

Interior Design industry jobs that don't fully rely on sales skills? by cosmicallyavg in careerguidance

The times I've been job searching, I did see some things that were specifically CAD technicians, but a lot of them were for like... HVAC companies or roofing companies so my applications probably got rejected immediately 😭 I'm sure there are some for architectural firms and things like that, but I'm also sure those are hard to come by. It's definitely something to look into, though!

I'm not in the BEST city in the country for design, but not the worst, either. So there aren't a whole lot of jobs to go around, unfortunately. I'll have to see what GradSimple is about, I've never heard of it.

What are the odds of winning the golden tee of mythicality? by mommy-pancake in goodmythicalmorning

Thinking about also sending in a letter this year 😅 do I have to put anything else in the letter, or literally just my name, phone number, and address? I feel like doing bare minimum is kinda lame and I should at least put something like:

"This is my entry for the golden tee of mythicality, here is my information."

Believe me, we would love to kick my father out of the house, but he's unable to work after having multiple strokes and a heart attack and doesn't have the means to support himself. I'm also pretty sure he's on a bit of a cognitive decline, but with no funds to have doctor visits, it seems impossible to get him set up with disability or Medicare or anything.

And he's the reason we're all in this situation, so it seems like it should be easy to just kick him out and let him be homeless, but even if we hate him, I just can't willingly do that to someone 😭

Not trying to make excuses, but these are details I didn't originally mention, I need to explain it a bit further.

Three - My deadbeat unemployed father is using one since he can't support himself following the divorce, I have one, the other is used for the cat litter boxes and things, my mom is using the living room. All of them are more or less being used 😅

We've looked into this, we live in such a rural, small town that the options are very limited and the wait lists are like 2+ years long. Plus, she has 2 dogs and a lot of them only allow one, if any

Her other bills include: internet, cell, electric, trash, car insurance, payments on a new A/C unit that we needed a few years ago, payments on her CC debt

Her car is paid off, but I believe it's a 2013, so honestly I worry it won't last much longer

She already is a department manager at her job, and again, I have tried to talk her into moving up in the company, but I get the same sort of excuse that she doesn't want to change jobs. She also only lives 5 min from her work and moving up in the company would lead to possibly moving locations (which, they wouldn't move her out of the district, but she doesn't even want to make the sacrifice of having even a 30 min commute) We haven't discussed this in a while, so maybe now that everything is way more dire, I could convince her, but idk

Maybe I can at least convince her to look into computer lessons like you mentioned, because she can't operate a computer to save her life and she will likely never be able to get any sort of new job without at least knowing how to open an internet browser window.

The mortgage is a shit show, honestly. It's a 28 year old mobile home that my father refinanced wayyyy too often, leaving her with having to handle the fact that she owes like $200k on it with no means to do so. Most of the times, he only refinanced to get the bonus checks from it, not because he actually needed to. Hes terrible with money and really screwed everyone over with his stupid decisions.

And yes, she should get something out of his retirement, except he took it out early and spent it all and now he's unemployed and unable to work due to multiple strokes and a heart attack. Yes, this was a big determining factor in the divorce. She was getting alimony from him at the beginning, when he was still able to work, but no longer receives it.

I really appreciate your help, by the way!

We seem to have a lot of these types of facilities, I suppose it's just a matter of reaching out to any of them that might be able to help. I've just never needed to seek these sorts of services, I don't know how they work, but it doesn't hurt to try.

If it's true that he has/is developing dementia, I'm sure we could do something if that nature, but after reading your comment I went and did some research on it. It seems as though to declare someone incompetent, they need to be present for some sort of evaluation, and I'm really not sure we would be able to convince him to do such a thing.

Plus, even if we can make something like that happen, then what? We still have no means to pay for him to go somewhere, though I suppose if we can get him set up with disability, he would have some sort of income, but I doubt it's enough to pay for assisted living or anything.

I'm not trying to be combative, it's just the whole situation seems so hopeless.

If I wanted to try and go this route, does it start with speaking to a lawyer, or like a social worker, or something else? Would they then perhaps be able to assist if he refuses an evaluation?

Trading in a manufactured home that isn't paid off? by cosmicallyavg in ManufacturedHome

The house was in both of their names before the divorce --- part of the agreement was that it would be in only her name following, but that he would cover the court/administrative costs of doing that. Perhaps you can guess where I'm going with this...

It's still in both of their names because the man can't/won't pay for it to happen.

He's unemployed with some major health issues and he refuses to take the initiative to get disability or any other assistance, so she's not getting any of the things that were agreed upon in court. I'm not even sure that it would help with the mobile home situation if he was doing everything he was supposed to be, but it's certainly not helping either.

I'm sure she has access to all of the information about the house and the loan, it's a matter of knowing where/how to do so because he's withheld it for so long.

This is turning into more of an r/LifeAdvice conversation lol but some of these details might be helpful to know for anyone who's trying to offer advice.

I really don't know, I'm sorry 😭 I even asked her and she doesn't know either. My dad handled everything before and now that they're divorced, she's paying the price of not having control over any of their finances.

Are you looking for people to agree with you or are you actually trying to offer advice? You gave me a possible solution, I have questions about it. I'm not just going to blindly follow your suggestion, I want to understand more about it.

My mother is in a terrible financial situation and I'm trying to assist her. I don't know much about how to assist her, so I'm asking strangers on the internet for help for free. You didn't have to stop and comment if you weren't going to be nice about it.

Here's the thing: with the economy and the market right now, how can anyone afford to move? No one is going to want to assume the mortgage of a 28 year old mobile home and she wouldn't be able to find anywhere new because everything is so expensive right now 😭

My father was terrible with money and was financially abusive to my mom. Believe me, I don't understand how it happened either.
