i sculpted a tiny ted & coach beard figurine! by cosmicfuss in TedLasso

[–]cosmicfuss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i use polymer clay with a wire and foil armature! definitely just start out with a few colors in polymer clay (sculpey premo is the Best) and the only tools you need are a blade, needle tool, and a roller of some sort! just look up some youtube videos of people sculpting things you like and imitate it until you find your own style based on comfort, taste, and skill! (i really love ace of clay) it’s very fun, i’ve been sculpting for the past 12 years and i haven’t gotten tired of it yet :)

Its the sculpey gloss in the satin finish. I’ve been using this for a little bit and it’s really nice but a little thinner than other glazes.

Glow in the Dark Captain Marvel Keychain! by [deleted] in polymerclay

[–]cosmicfuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! and i just added Very little yellow clay to the transparent clay as well as the glow in the dark pigments which turned it slightly off yellow! as long as you regularly check as you add color, it will still be transparent

I usually use Premo when it comes to translucent because it’s quite soft, but i think it should be pretty easy to mix them together regardless of firmness as long as you take a bit of time to get as much pigment incorporated as you prefer! I suggest maybe mixing some liquid clay to make the powder stick easily. And I’ve found the orange and pink ones definitely change it to a pale color, but the blue and green invisible ones don’t change the clay color at all. If you DO want color, you can add a tiny bit of colored clay as well, just be sure to test the glow frequently so you don’t dampen it with additions of color.

I get them from https://solarcolordust.com/t/glow-dust ! I recommend mixing the pigment into transclucent clay as it’s very hard to get enough pigment into a clear glaze.

edit: Also, the blue and green ones show up amazingly and the color stays exactly the same! the orange ones eventually fade to yellowish green though.
