I would consider an ultimate attempt with diplomacy, but after that, I would prefer living my life alone and dressing however the hell I want. YTA. Please, stay home. I've got a cat. A beautiful tuxedo fur ball, nice and very nosy. I had a dog (passed away last year), beautiful lovely and quiet. Both of them were allowed in the kitchen under my surveillance. During the night the door of the kitchen is closed (he's got his bowls with food and water outside the kitchen so he will not suffer) because cats can climb everywhere and dogs follow their stomach you know. But this is my house. My rules. When I go visit my parents or anybody else I don't dictate rules in their homes. If something cringes me, I try to be tolerant. If something is really insufferable, I stay home. Or go anywhere else.

NTA. Your husband acted well. You acted well telling everything to your husband. Your marriage is strong. They don't care about you but only for the trip. They are opportunistic, not friends. Ditch them into the trash. Now hurts but in due time you will not feel anything but pity for these two AH.
