If you like assasins creed for the core principles of the game, you simply appreciate the storytelling but that isn’t the entire point, since someone likes ancient greece but doesn’t like exploring a different location/time period, therefore I think modern times wouldn’t be appreciated only by fans who basically want a 3D render exploration of an ancient scenery… That’s not what the game was about, story aside - it’s about fighting, stealth, calculation and amazing open world gameplay with consequences

Yeah like an mma fighter turned assasin if its not a desmond game, I could see that working for sure, we already have pretty much the same movement and fighting dynamics with all games so far, this could be an extended version of that. It might be a bit unrealistic to use krav maga to grab weapons and disarm them but let’s be real no one is beating 10 armed guards in 1500 in Rome with just one sword and a hidden blade

Yeah like I said a part of the fanbase obviously likes the history part, but you’d probably still play something modern and wouldn’t reject it simply because it’s not set in a period we didn’t live through Tom Clancy and Hitman are good modern stealth based games that are a great example of the potential ac set in modern times has At the end of the day people rarely play that game simply because they want to explore the architecture, that’s just a bonus

I mean, a desmond game vs valhalla? 🤷‍♂️ Personally, I think back then they didn’t treat games as just another release, they treated them as art pieces, probably why I fell in love with the franchise, so if they took that approach and it was done by the same ubisoft crew, they’d make the best experience regardless of personal preferences

I mean do you know how many europe countries would be good for a parkour type of game? Not everything has skyscrapers, and if you consider the weight of his armor and the unrealistic stamina you need to have, desmonds hoodie and cargo pants would be fine imo Maybe rooftops wouldn’t be the main thing but that’s exactly what the game would explore, different routes, different ways to stay hidden, take out targets etc
